The Senior Consultant serves as a subject-matter expert for complex high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth client needs, leads client and advisor discussions, and helps strengthen consistent Risk Advisory practices across SCAS.

Please see below for specific responsibilities and requirements for this role.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities for this role are below; you may support projects of varying complexity based on skill and organizational priorities.

· Advanced Risk Assessment: Lead structured risk assessments for new and existing wealth strategies, identify protection and liquidity gaps, and document findings and recommended next steps.

· Holistic Solution Design: Develop insurance strategies that complement estate planning, wealth transfer, business succession, executive benefits, charitable objectives and broader client financial goals.

· Client Advisory: Explain complex insurance concepts, tradeoffs and implementation considerations to clients and their external advisors in a clear, balanced and understandable manner.

· Wealth Team Partnership: Work alongside Wealth Advisors, Wealth Strategists, fiduciary professionals and other SCAS specialists from discovery through recommendation and implementation.

· Case Leadership: Lead complex cases, including data gathering, financial and policy analysis, illustration review, carrier engagement, underwriting coordination, application strategy and policy delivery.

· Existing Policy Review: Evaluate existing life, disability, long-term care and annuity arrangements for alignment with current objectives, ownership structures, funding assumptions and service needs.

· Regional Engagement: Develop proactive relationships across assigned regions, participate in opportunity and planning discussions, and help advisors identify situations requiring Risk Advisory involvement.

· Quality and Risk Management: Maintain complete documentation, follow applicable policies and procedures, elevate exceptions and concerns, and support appropriate review of recommendations and transactions.

· Practice Development: Contribute to assessment questions, planning standards, advisor education, templates and process improvements that scale the Risk Advisory model.

· Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and case support to the Risk Advisory Associate and less-experienced partners while escalating the most complex matters to the Director.

· Other Duties: Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your team's and the company's mission.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Appropriate state insurance licenses for Life, Health and Long-Term Care, as required under Fifth Third licensing guidelines.

· Eight or more years of insurance planning, advanced case design, wealth planning or related financial-services experience.

· Demonstrated experience advising high-net-worth clients and collaborating with relationship managers, planners or external professional advisors.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Qualified candidates will possess an advanced degree of proficiency, typically developed through eight or more years of relevant experience, in:

· Insurance and Risk Analysis: Assessing life, disability, long-term care and annuity needs and evaluating existing and proposed solutions.

· Complex Planning: Applying insurance concepts within estate, tax, liquidity, business-owner and wealth-transfer planning.

· Consultative Communication: Leading discovery and recommendation discussions and presenting complex concepts clearly.

· Case Design and Execution: Managing sophisticated cases from assessment through underwriting, implementation and delivery.

· Collaboration and Judgment: Working effectively across a multidisciplinary team and exercising sound judgment in ambiguous client situations.

Please refer to the “Skills for Success” section to learn how to stand out as an applicant.

· Professional Designations: CLU, ChFC, CFP or progress toward a comparable advanced designation.

· Fiduciary Mindset: Approaching insurance as one element of a client’s overall plan and prioritizing documented client needs and outcomes.

· Advisor Enablement: Helping Wealth Advisors and Wealth Strategists identify needs and confidently position Risk Advisory.

· Regional Relationship Management: Building productive partnerships across multiple markets while managing competing case priorities.

· Coaching and Knowledge Sharing: Reviewing work, sharing expertise and supporting development of junior team members.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
