About Figure

Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: FIGR; OPEN: FGRS) is the leading blockchain-native capital marketplace for the origination, funding, sale and trading of tokenized assets. More than 480 partners use its loan origination system and capital marketplace. Collectively, Figure and its partners have originated over $30 billion of loans to date, among other products. The fastest growing components are Figure Connect, its credit marketplace, and Democratized Prime, Figure’s on-chain lend-borrow marketplace. Figure’s ecosystem also includes DART (Digital Asset Registry Technology) for asset custody and lien perfection, and $YLDS, a yield-bearing stablecoin registered with the SEC as a security under the Securities Act of 1933.

Figure is the market leader in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. The company has received triple-A ratings from S&P and Moody’s on multiple loan securitizations, the first of its kind for blockchain finance.

We’re proud to be recognized as one of Forbes’ Top 50 Fintech Companies and CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies.

About the Role

Figure is looking for a Principal Product Designer to help shape the future of our financial products, with a primary focus on Figure Markets and opportunities to work across our broader lending ecosystem.

This is a senior individual contributor role for a designer who thrives in complex, ambiguous problem spaces. You will work on products that span investing, lending, borrowing, digital assets, capital markets, and emerging financial infrastructure, often in areas where the product model itself is still being defined.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and business leaders to turn complicated financial concepts, technical constraints, regulatory requirements, and evolving customer needs into experiences that feel clear, intuitive, and trustworthy.

We are looking for someone who can move fluidly between big-picture product thinking and detailed execution. You should be comfortable challenging assumptions, identifying gaps in requirements, working through downstream logic and edge cases, and helping a team determine not just how a feature should work, but what the right product experience should be. At the Principal level, your impact should extend beyond the projects directly assigned to you. You will help establish patterns, improve how teams approach difficult design problems, mentor other designers, and raise the quality of product design across Figure.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead product design for complex initiatives across Figure Markets, while contributing to shared problems and experiences across Figure Lending and other products.
  • Take ambiguous or incomplete product requirements and turn them into coherent end-to-end experiences, identifying missing logic, dependencies, edge cases, and opportunities along the way.
  • Develop a deep understanding of financial concepts, customer workflows, business models, and technical constraints in order to simplify inherently complicated products.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering from early problem definition through implementation, helping shape requirements rather than simply designing against them.
  • Explore multiple approaches to difficult problems, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and help teams make informed product decisions.
  • Design sophisticated workflows, data-dense interfaces, account and transaction experiences, permissions, states, and other interaction models common to financial products.
  • Think beyond the primary happy path. Anticipate error states, lifecycle changes, permissions, regulatory constraints, system behavior, and downstream consequences of design decisions.
  • Create prototypes and high-fidelity designs that make complex product ideas tangible and help teams align quickly.
  • Work within and contribute to Figure’s evolving design system, identifying opportunities to establish reusable patterns without forcing unique product problems into generic solutions.
  • Partner closely with Engineering during implementation to preserve intent, resolve unexpected constraints, and maintain a high bar for product quality.
  • Use research, customer feedback, product data, domain expertise, and cross-functional input to inform design decisions.
  • Present work clearly to partners and senior leadership, explaining not only what you designed but how you arrived at the solution.
  • Provide thoughtful critique and mentorship to other designers, helping raise the quality of both the work and the thinking behind it.
  • Identify patterns and opportunities that span individual products, helping Figure create more coherent experiences across Markets, Lending, and future product areas.

What We Look For

  • 8+ years of product design experience, including significant experience owning complex products or major product areas.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong product thinking, interaction design, and visual craft across real, shipped experiences.
  • A track record of solving complicated problems where requirements, customer needs, or the underlying product model were not fully defined at the outset.
  • Strong systems thinking and an ability to understand how decisions in one part of a product affect workflows, states, users, and systems elsewhere.
  • Excellent interaction design skills, particularly for sophisticated workflows, data-heavy products, and multi-step experiences.
  • Strong visual design fundamentals and a high bar for typography, hierarchy, layout, information density, interaction detail, and overall product polish.
  • The ability to independently drive work from early problem framing through detailed design and implementation.
  • Comfort working closely with engineers and understanding enough about technical systems to make pragmatic design decisions.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to explain complicated concepts and design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience influencing Product and Engineering partners and constructively challenging requirements when a better customer or product outcome is possible.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to give and receive direct, thoughtful critique.
  • A customer-first approach that prioritizes clarity, trust, and usability over novelty or personal aesthetic preference.
  • Adhere to all company security policies and data handling procedures.
  • Complete mandatory security awareness training within required timeframes.
  • Promptly report any suspected security incidents or suspicious activity to the Security team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing fintech, trading, investing, lending, crypto, capital markets, payments, or other financial products.
  • Experience working in regulated industries where compliance, permissions, disclosures, and operational constraints meaningfully affect the product experience.
  • Familiarity with institutional or professional financial workflows in addition to consumer products.
  • Experience with products involving complex account structures, transaction lifecycles, roles and permissions, or financial data.
  • Experience contributing to design systems and establishing reusable product patterns across teams.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and modern product development workflows.
  • Experience using prototyping and emerging AI tools to explore ideas, accelerate iteration, or improve the design and development process.

How You'll Make an Impact

Success in this role is not measured by the number of screens you produce. It is measured by your ability to bring clarity to difficult problems, improve the decisions a team makes, and create products that make sophisticated financial capabilities understandable and usable. You will help Figure build products that can support increasing complexity without feeling increasingly complicated, while raising the standard for product thinking and execution across the organization.

Salary

  • Company HSA, FSA, Dependent Care FSA, 401(k), and commuter benefits
  • Employer-paid life and disability insurance

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
