Job Description: Agricultural Mechanic

Role Overview: An agricultural mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining agricultural equipment and machinery used in farming operations. They ensure that machinery operates efficiently to support farm productivity and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnosis and Repair:
  2. Perform diagnostic tests on agricultural equipment to identify issues and malfunctions.
  3. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  4. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems to ensure equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications.
  5. Maintenance:
  6. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
  7. Service and maintain farm machinery to optimize performance during peak seasons and ensure reliability.

  9. Install new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper assembly and calibration according to technical specifications.
  10. Set up equipment for specific farming tasks such as planting, harvesting, irrigation, and livestock handling.
  11. Safety and Compliance:

  13. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and equipment safety requirements.
  14. Documentation and Reporting:
  15. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
