Job description

The Investment Management Analyst/Associate will support the origination, analysis, execution, and monitoring of debt and hybrid finance investments across Latin America, with a primary focus on financial institutions, including banks, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), and other financial intermediaries.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical capabilities, financial modelling skills, and the ability to support multiple transaction workstreams simultaneously. The successful candidate will contribute throughout the investment lifecycle, from transaction screening and due diligence to execution and portfolio monitoring, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams across Finance in Motion.

The position is well suited for a high-performing professional with approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, investment management, credit analysis, or financial institutions analysis.

English is the company’s working language. Portuguese proficiency is highly desirable given the team's significant exposure to Brazil.

Key responsibilities: Transaction Structuring, Execution & Monitoring

  • Conduct financial and credit analysis of prospective clients and investment opportunities, with a focus on financial institutions.
  • Support the assessment of debt capacity and capital structure for senior, subordinated, and hybrid debt instruments.
  • Build and maintain financial models, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analyses, and stress-testing scenarios.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, credit proposals, financial analyses, and term sheets for internal approval processes.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities across legal, financial, ESG/I&S, AML, and risk workstreams.
  • Support transaction negotiation and closing processes in coordination with internal teams, external advisors, and counterparties.

Market & Sector Analysis

  • Conduct market, sector, and company research across Latin America, with particular emphasis on banking and financial services sectors.
  • Monitor macroeconomic, regulatory, and industry developments relevant to investment opportunities and portfolio risk assessment.
  • Analyze financial statements, business models, and key risk drivers of potential and existing clients.

Stakeholder Engagement & Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including legal, ESG/I&S, risk, AML, portfolio management, and structuring teams.
  • Support interactions with clients, co-investors, technical advisors, and external service providers.
  • Contribute to the preparation of materials and presentations for Investment Committees and other internal governance forums.

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor portfolio investments, including financial performance, covenant compliance, and risk developments.
  • Support the preparation of periodic portfolio reviews, credit monitoring reports, and investor reporting.
  • Assist in identifying and escalating material risks or performance issues within the portfolio.

What we expect:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, investment management, corporate finance, private credit, commercial banking, or financial institutions analysis.
  • Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, credit analysis, and financial modelling.
  • Experience analyzing banks, NBFIs, or other financial institutions is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to debt structuring, capital markets, lending products, or project finance is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.
  • Willingness to travel within Latin America as required.

Other Desired Skills & Experience

  • Master's degree in finance or other professional qualification (e.g. CFA) is a plus.
  • Portuguese language proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently in a multicultural, international, and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.

What you can expect:

  • An agile, widely diverse international working environment of around 70 nationalities that is keenly interested in making a positive difference through their work and who share a collaborative, can-do spirit.
  • A job that allows you to fully utilize and expand your skills within an innovative, hands-on company culture.
  • A purpose-driven, performance-oriented company that rewards above-average results.
  • An organization dedicated to providing effective training and upskilling to its employees.
  • A company that offers a flexible and amicable work environment, placing a high value on work-life balance.

We, a team of over 300 dedicated professionals across 15 regional offices worldwide, are committed to advancing sustainable development through pioneering finance solutions. If you relish tackling complex challenges hands-on and crave an adaptable and motivating work environment, we're eager to connect with you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
