About FIRY

We build companies that help people create, compete, and grow.

FIRY (NYSE: FIRY) is a founder-led global holding company built to fuel business potential. Founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Andrew Paradise, FIRY began by inventing an entirely new category: real-money skill-based mobile gaming. What started as a single bold idea became Skillz, a platform with more than 90 million lifetime users and one of the largest sources of first-party behavioral data in gaming. FIRY’s proprietary technology is protected by 90+ issued patents. More than a decade later, Andrew still leads FIRY as Founder & CEO, pairing an inventor’s ethos with investment success. That combination defines FIRY’s culture from the top down.

Today, FIRY is building something much bigger.

We’re creating a portfolio of category-defining businesses operating at the intersection of AI, identity, gaming, commerce, and performance marketing. Each business is successful on its own. Together, they create a flywheel of technology, data, and distribution that’s difficult to replicate. The systems FIRY builds help game developers build businesses, help advertisers acquire the right users, and turn competitive play into a scalable commercial engine.

  • Skillz: The competition platform that pioneered real-money skill-based gaming and continues to power millions of competitive experiences while generating unique behavioral insights.
  • RZR: Our AI-native performance advertising platform, rebuilt from first principles, profitable for four consecutive quarters with revenue up 75% year over year in Q2 2026, helping brands acquire customers more intelligently.
  • Beamable: The infrastructure powering the next generation of live games, giving developers everything they need to build, operate, and scale online experiences.

FIRY is publicly traded on the NYSE and headquartered in Las Vegas, with a global network of hubs across its portfolio companies. Q2 2026 revenue grew 23% year over year. The portfolio is entering its compounding phase.

We’re still early.

We’re looking for builders who want to create products that define industries, not simply compete in them. Corporate roles at FIRY sit at the center of all three businesses, supporting the infrastructure, strategy, and execution that compound as they grow together.

About the Role

FIRY is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to be accountable for operating performance across its portfolio businesses and lead operations at the holding company. Reporting to the Founder & CEO, the COO will translate group strategy into business plans, hold business leaders accountable for financial and operational results, and ensure FIRY’s resources and corporate capabilities support execution.

The CEOs and general managers of FIRY’s portfolio businesses, including Skillz, RZR, and Beamable, will report directly to the COO. The COO will set their goals, hold them accountable for financial and operational results, and lead them as one leadership team to drive growth, improve profitability, and address underperformance. This executive will also own the group’s operating cadence, lead initiatives across the portfolio, and build efficient corporate operations that support the businesses as FIRY grows.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business performance: Hold business leaders accountable for approved plans, financial targets, and operating commitments. Identify performance gaps, drive corrective action, and escalate decisions requiring the Founder & CEO’s involvement.
  • Lead the portfolio leadership team: Set goals for the business CEOs and GMs who report to the COO, assess each leadership bench, and make hiring, development, and succession decisions with the Founder & CEO.
  • Own the operating cadence: Lead business reviews, quarterly planning and Board operating updates, using clear scorecards to evaluate progress, challenge assumptions, and drive decisions to completion.
  • Support portfolio strategy and M&A: Partner with the Founder & CEO and CFO to evaluate acquisition and divestiture opportunities, assess strategic fit, and develop plans for creating value through ownership or sale.
  • Lead transaction execution and integration: Coordinate operational due diligence, assess leadership and organizational needs, and validate operating assumptions. Lead acquisition integration and divestiture separation planning, ensuring business continuity and delivery of expected benefits.
  • Lead FIRY operations: Oversee procurement, vendor management and IT.. Partner with Finance, People, and Legal to provide effective corporate support, maintain spending discipline, and establish clear approval processes.
  • Improve productivity and deploy resources: Drive operational improvements, AI adoption, and automation across the group. Recommend resource allocation and organizational changes that improve execution, profitability, and portfolio value.

What success looks like in the first 12 months

  • Operating cadence installed: Business reviews, quarterly planning, and standard scorecards are running across Skillz, RZR, and Beamable, with each business CEO/GM reporting into the COO.
  • First integration completed: At least one acquisition integration or divestiture separation delivered on plan, with expected benefits tracked.
  • Corporate costs benchmarked: Holding-company costs benchmarked against peers, with a savings plan approved and underway.
  • Performance gaps addressed: Corrective plans in place and on track for any business missing its targets.
  • Leadership bench assessed: Each portfolio leadership team evaluated, with critical gaps filled or hiring underway.
  • Portfolio review delivered: A buy, hold, or sell recommendation for each business presented to the Founder & CEO and the Board.
  • AI adoption scaled: Priority workflows automated in each business and at FIRY corporate, with adoption and productivity gains tracked.

Key Competencies

  • Operational Leadership: Simplifies, automates, or removes work before adding headcount. Puts new tools, including AI, into daily use across teams and tracks adoption.
  • Financial and Operating Rigor: Reads and pressure-tests P&Ls, unit economics, and operating metrics across different business models. Runs reviews with clear scorecards that end in decisions, owners, and deadlines.
  • Portfolio Strategy & M&A Execution: Brings buy, hold, and sell recommendations to the Founder & CEO, each backed by an investment case and fit analysis. Runs diligence, integrations, and separations end to end with clear owners, milestones, and continuity plans.
  • Executive Influence: Gives the Founder & CEO and the Board candid recommendations, including bad news early. Sets clear expectations with business CEOs and GMs and follows up until commitments are met.
  • Talent Leadership: Hires, develops, and, when needed, replaces leaders, and names successors for key roles. Gives direct feedback and holds leaders to agreed goals.

Experience

  • 15+ years of operating leadership experience is required, including 5+ years as COO, President, or GM with full P&L ownership at meaningful scale.
  • A proven track record scaling consumer technology, gaming, ad tech, marketplace, or fintech businesses through rapid growth or transformation is required.
  • Experience leading senior leaders, such as business unit heads or GMs, across multiple teams or businesses is required.
  • Experience operating a multi-business portfolio or holding-company structure, including leading acquisitions, integrations, and divestitures, is strongly preferred.
  • Public company experience, including Board reporting, earnings communications, and investor relations, is preferred.
  • A background in regulated industries (real-money gaming, payments, or similar) and multi-jurisdiction compliance is preferred.

Starting Compensation: $420k + bonus + equity.

Location: Based in Las Vegas, NV, USA (FIRY headquarters).

Travel: up to 50% (portfolio company sites, Board and investor meetings).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
