Product Management Director Receivables Payments (Cards)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Management Director to help shape the next phase of our invoicing and payments platform.

This is a key role focused on strengthening our card payments capability, simplifying a complex payment-partner landscape, and creating a clear strategy for how payments and processing should work across the platform.

You will bring deep, hands-on card payments expertise and work closely with engineering, product, commercial stakeholders, payment providers and reseller partners. You will be comfortable moving between strategy and execution, using your payments knowledge to solve operational challenges while shaping the longer-term direction of the product.

The role sits within an established, geographically distributed team, with colleagues across Ireland, London and the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product strategy for card payments, payment processing and acquiring across the platform.
  • Develop a clear strategy for the platform's payment mix, ensuring the business has the right capabilities and payment partners to support its customers.
  • Simplify a complex payment ecosystem where resellers may work with different payment partners, creating a more scalable approach to partner selection, integration and management.
  • Establish clear operational processes for managing payment providers, including how issues are identified, escalated and resolved.
  • Bring deep card-processing knowledge into product decisions, ensuring that commercial, operational and regulatory considerations are understood.
  • Partner closely with engineering to translate complex payment requirements into clear product priorities and deliverable solutions.
  • Balance strategic product development with hands-on problem solving and day-to-day execution.
  • Work closely with reseller stakeholders to understand their requirements and strengthen the product strategy for reseller-led payments.
  • Help shape and develop the evolving product team, including supporting future hiring and capability building.
  • Lead and support a team expected to be approximately five people, with the final team structure to be confirmed.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Experience

  • Strong, hands-on experience within card payments and payment processing.
  • Strong understanding of acquiring and how the card-payment ecosystem works in practice.
  • Approximately 5 to 7 years of product management experience, ideally within payments, fintech or a closely related environment.
  • Experience owning and delivering payment products rather than operating solely within sales, consulting or strategy roles.
  • Strong operational knowledge of card payments, including experience working through real-world processing and payment-provider challenges.
  • Experience developing product strategy while remaining close to execution and delivery.
  • Strong experience partnering with engineering teams and translating payment requirements into product priorities.
  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple payment partners, stakeholders and markets.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work across geographically distributed teams.
  • Comfortable working with US-based stakeholders, including the ability to accommodate US working hours approximately once per week.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Experience working with US card payments.
  • Experience within a global payments organisation or similarly complex payments environment.
  • Experience managing relationships or integrations with multiple payment processors, acquirers or payment partners.
  • Experience developing payment products distributed through resellers or partners.
  • Previous people-management experience.

While leadership experience is valuable, deep card-processing and acquiring expertise is more important than extensive people-management experience for this role.

What Success Looks Like

You will:

  • Establish a clear and scalable product strategy for card payments and processing.
  • Strengthen how payment partners and acquiring relationships are managed across the platform.
  • Simplify the existing reseller and payment-partner ecosystem.
  • Create clearer product priorities and decision-making frameworks around payments.
  • Build a strong and effective partnership between product and engineering.
  • Strengthen product-management capability around reseller and partner-led payments.
  • Help shape, develop and grow the wider product team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
