About this role

Job Description

Aladdin Client Engagement (ACE) helps clients maximize the value of their Aladdin investment through workflow and operational expertise, data-driven insights, and hands-on partnerships with senior functional stakeholders.

As a Vice President, you will serve as a consultative client partner who translates trading, operations, and post-trade priorities into measurable outcomes—driving adoption of Aladdin’s trading, investment operations, and accounting capabilities, shaping the client’s Book of Work, and leading cross-functional delivery with strong project governance.

You will build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders while helping clients optimize workflows, strengthen operational resilience, navigate change, and realize greater value from Aladdin. Success will require strong stakeholder and project management, thoughtful risk management, clear executive communication, and the ability to turn complex operational challenges into actionable plans.

Key responsibilities

In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

Trading & post-trade client engagement

  • Engage senior Trading, Operations and Post-Trade stakeholders (e.g., Heads of Trading, Investment Operations, Settlements, Derivatives Operations, Accounting, Compliance, and Investment Technology) to understand priorities and translate them into actionable Aladdin solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead engagements focused on trade execution and automation, trade confirmation and settlement, derivatives and collateral operations, corporate actions, cash and position reconciliation, accounting close, and compliance workflows, connecting platform capabilities to client objectives.
  • Diagnose operational gaps and adoption blockers using data, client feedback, and observed usage patterns (e.g., STP rates, exception volumes, settlement fails); define and execute a plan to improve straight-through processing, exception-based oversight, and data quality across the post-trade lifecycle.
  • Advise clients on market-structure and regulatory change affecting post-trade operations (e.g., settlement-cycle compression, SWIFT ISO 20022/MX migration, clearing reforms), ensuring timely readiness and clear communication to senior client stakeholders on priorities, progress, risks, and outcomes.

Value delivery leadership & governance

  • Own structured client governance (e.g., Book of Work reviews, functional engagement cadence, service reviews, and steering forums as needed), ensuring alignment on priorities, scope, timelines, risks, and outcomes—including the transition from implementation and hypercare into BAU.
  • Develop and execute a value delivery plan that supports client objectives (e.g., increased adoption, operational scale and efficiency, reduced operational risk, and strengthened partnership), and clearly articulate progress and impact to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the client’s Aladdin configuration, operating model, and third-party ecosystem (e.g., custodians, brokers, fund administrators, and market utilities); proactively identify opportunities to optimize workflows, retire legacy systems, and reduce manual processes and parallel solutions.

Project & stakeholder management

  • Lead complex, multi-workstream initiatives end-to-end (e.g., asset onboarding, workflow redesign, system retirement, and target operating model changes)—scoping, planning, executing, managing risks/issues, and communicating progress—partnering with internal and client stakeholders to deliver on timelines and outcomes.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders with competing priorities; manage operational escalations and incidents effectively with clear executive-level communication, root-cause follow-through, and structured trade-off decisions.
  • Establish clear success metrics (e.g., improved STP rates, same-day confirmation and on-time settlement, reduced exceptions and manual workarounds, faster accounting close) and quantify benefits realized where possible.

Product partnership, commercial impact & scale

  • Provide structured client feedback to inform product priorities (with emphasis on trading, investment operations, accounting, and compliance needs in APAC), partnering with Product and Engineering teams to improve outcomes.
  • Contribute to regional scale by sharing repeatable engagement patterns, playbooks, and lessons learned across the client engagement community.
  • Identify and shape commercial opportunities (e.g., harvesting, renewals, and adoption of partner and premium capabilities) in partnership with Relationship Management and Business Development, and mentor junior team members to build post-trade capability across the region.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience engaging senior trading, operations, and post-trade stakeholders and driving outcomes through Aladdin trading, investment operations, or accounting engagements (or equivalent OMS, post-trade, or investment accounting platform experience; strong Aladdin exposure preferred).
  • Proven track record leading complex programs and operational change with strong project management, stakeholder management, and governance—including multi-team coordination and executive communications.
  • Strong ability to translate technical and operational concepts into clear business outcomes and value narratives; comfortable presenting to and influencing senior audiences.
  • Strong understanding of the investment management lifecycle with hands-on depth in post-trade workflows, such as trade operations, settlements, derivatives and collateral operations, asset servicing, reconciliation, investment accounting, or compliance.
  • Background in investment operations, middle office, custody/asset servicing, or post-trade transformation at an asset manager, asset owner, bank, or service provider, combined with client advisory experience and end-to-end program ownership.
  • Professional fluency in Korean and English would be required for this role to support onshore clients in Korea.

What success looks like (first 6–12 months)

  • Establish trusted relationships with key trading, operations, and post-trade stakeholders across assigned clients, with a clear engagement of cadence and governance.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in post-trade efficiency and outcomes (e.g., higher STP, fewer exceptions and settlement fails, reduced manual workarounds, and stable post-go-live operations).
  • Demonstrate strong ownership of Book of Work governance and multi-workstream execution, including proactive risk management and clear communications.
  • Share repeatable patterns and client insights—and support the development of junior team members—to help scale post-trade value delivery across the region

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
