Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support our drayage operations, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of containers between ports, rail ramps, and Five Below Ship Centers. This role is critical in maintaining smooth communication between internal teams, carriers, and external partners, while tracking shipments and resolving issues in real time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily drayage operations, including container pickup and delivery scheduling, to support timely movement to Ship Centers.
  • Coordinate with port terminals, drayage carriers, and Ship Centers to maintain delivery plans and resolve operational constraints.
  • Partner with the Customs Trade team to monitor container release status and address clearance issues that may impact delivery timing.
  • Monitor container status, terminal free time, demurrage, and detention exposure, proactively identifying issues and supporting actions to minimize avoidable charges.
  • Identify and communicate shipment risks, coordinating mitigation actions with carriers and internal partners to protect delivery plans.
  • Monitor carrier capacity against volume forecasts, identify potential gaps, and recommend solutions to maintain coverage.
  • Analyze planned versus actual delivery performance, identify trends and root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve service.
  • Lead weekly operational reviews with drayage carriers to evaluate KPIs, validate upcoming forecasts and capacity, review exceptions, and align on actions to address performance risks.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or drayage operations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with intermodal or containerized freight.
  • Knowledge of import/export documentation and customs processes.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
