ABOUT FLINT

Flint is the first self-improving system for performance marketing. We connect to brands' ad accounts and optimize them by instantly creating pages for each ad group and running a learning loop that continually improves conversions. We just signed a Fortune 10 customer, and within 48 hours their customer acquisition cost decreased by 50%. We're backed by Accel, SBVP, the venture fund of former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg, and Neo.

Sandberg instantly understood Flint's vision. "I was sharing how it took five teams three months to build one A/B test just to increase conversion by 10% on our Google ad," Flint CEO Michelle Lim said. "And then she stopped me, [and] said, 'Michelle, it was 140 people at Meta who had to do this'." — TechCrunch

We envision a future where every business will have an autonomous digital marketer that responds to real-world signals, like competitive shifts, user behavior, and trending search queries, the way an autonomous vehicle responds to road conditions and traffic.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Flint is led by co-founders Michelle Lim https://www.linkedin.com/in/michlimlim/, who went from Engineer #1 to Head of Growth and Product at Warp, and Max Levenson https://www.linkedin.com/in/max-levenson-a6102199/, an engineering leader at autonomous vehicle startup Nuro and then Engineer #2 at Vooma (YC S23). Most of our team has founded a company or been a founding engineer, so you’ll be working with people who’ve built from zero before.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Paid Search Strategist, you’re the search expert behind every account Flint runs. We work with brands that spend millions on Google Ads, and you’re the one who makes that spend pay off. You run the accounts hands-on, from structure and keywords to bidding and budgets, and for once the landing page is yours too. You’ll see how search plays out across many different brands, and you’ll know what’s working within days instead of months.

Everything you know about search goes into Flint’s ads agent, so you get to build the frontier AI for your craft. Over time, the way you run search becomes the way Flint runs search for every brand we work with.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Run Google Ads accounts hands-on for a portfolio of brands, from structure and keywords to bidding, budgets, and testing

- Diagnose wasted spend and missed conversions, and scale what’s profitable

- Repair or rebuild accounts that need a stronger foundation in both execution and measurement

- Make calls based on each customer’s growth goals, not vanity metrics

- Be the expert behind our strategic accounts, and step in personally when they need you

- Challenge the ads agent when it gets something wrong, and work with our engineers to make it better

- Turn your playbook into how Flint’s agent runs search, starting with search-query mining and ad-group structuring

- Work alongside our account team, who handle most day-to-day customer communication

WHO YOU ARE

- Strong hands-on Google Ads experience in DTC or B2B (both is a plus)

- A track record of owning meaningful budgets and the results that come with them

- Good judgment about when an account needs optimizing and when it needs a rebuild

- A habit of investigating problems instead of working around them

- Experience testing and measuring what works in an account

- Clear, frequent written communication and close attention to detail

- Comfort with AI tools and interest in building the AI for your craft

Nice to have

- Shopping, Performance Max, and AI Max

- Meta experience

- Incrementality testing and offline conversion tracking

- AI workflows or tools you’ve built yourself

BENEFITS

- Ownership in an early-stage company through competitive equity

- Competitive compensation

- Medical benefits and 20 days of paid time off each year

- Lunch, snacks, and Cometeer coffee in the office

- A dog-friendly office in the Financial District

- A highly creative team that spends time together inside and outside the office

- The opportunity to build a critical function from the beginning, while shaping a new category

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
