The posting

Filtration Engineering Manager | Mining Dewatering Filters

We are looking for a leader with a deep understanding of mining filtration equipment from a mechanical perspective and strong people management skills.

Mines depend on filtration to turn slurry into shippable product. As our Filtration Engineering Manager, you'll lead the team designing the dewatering technology our mining customers rely on - and help shape how FLSmidth's filtration equipment performs in the field, worldwide.

You'll join our Filtration Engineering team, part of the wider Mining Equipment engineering organisation supporting projects globally.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering team designing dewatering filtration equipment
  • Own technical specifications, calculations and equipment drawings
  • Drive capital projects from design through commissioning
  • Partner with process engineers to size and select filtration equipment
  • Resolve field performance issues through root-cause analysis
  • Support sales with technical proposals and feasibility studies
  • Mentor and develop engineers across the filtration team

Key Accountabilities

Engineering Design & Technical Ownership

  • Own the technical design and specification of dewatering filtration systems, ensuring compliance with process requirements, safety standards, and client specifications.
  • Review and approve engineering calculations, P&IDs, GA drawings, and equipment datasheets for filtration equipment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in filter design to optimize cake moisture, throughput, filtrate clarity, and cloth/media life.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of filtration engineers and designers.
  • Set technical direction, allocate resources across projects, and ensure engineering deliverables meet quality and schedule targets.
  • Build technical capability within the team through training, standards development, and knowledge transfer.

Project Delivery

  • Act as engineering lead on capital projects and equipment upgrades, from proposal/FEED through detailed design, procurement support, commissioning, and handover.
  • Coordinate with project management, procurement, and site teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of filtration packages.
  • Manage engineering scope, risk, and change control throughout project lifecycles.

Performance Optimization

  • Conduct root-cause analysis on underperforming installations and lead corrective engineering actions.
  • Support pilot testing, bench-scale trials, and scale-up studies for new applications.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the senior technical point of contact for customers on filtration engineering matters, including troubleshooting and technical audits.
  • Support sales and business development with technical proposals, feasibility studies, and equipment selection guidance.
  • Liaise with OEM partners, suppliers, and site operations teams to resolve technical issues.

Standards, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant engineering codes, mining industry standards, and company QA/QC procedures.
  • Maintain and improve internal engineering standards, templates, and design tools specific to dewatering filtration.
  • Champion safety-by-design principles across all filtration engineering work.

Aftermarket & Lifecycle Support

  • Oversee engineering input for spare parts, upgrades, retrofits, and performance guarantees for installed filtration equipment.
  • Support field service and reliability teams.

What you bring

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering
  • 8+ years in filtration or solid-liquid separation engineering
  • Experience leading technical teams and capital projects
  • Strong knowledge of mining and mineral processing applications
  • Confident communicator with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel internationally approximately 30–40 days per year
  • Valid passport and required travel permits

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
