ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a passionate, organised and sharp-thinking Business Director to join Team Centrica and Team X (Mercedes) at OMD UK.
The Centrica account at OMD comprises two brands — British Gas and Hive. You’ll gain exposure across Centrica’s full suite of products, from Solar to Household Services, and the entire media funnel. The role gives you access to a wide range of projects — from answering key strategic brand questions and developing standout campaigns to comms planning, data-driven performance and analytics.
The role will play a big part in shaping the Mercedes Commercial Vehicles account and delivering the integrated vision that is Team X. They'll need to be technically proficient in performance marketing and have a real passion to integrate with our Critical Mass / RAPP colleagues.
As Client Leadership Executive Business Director, you’ll play a critical leadership role in a fast-paced, high-profile account team — helping develop the strategic direction, building effective media planning and comms solutions, driving creative work, managing campaigns day-to-day, and delivering exceptional client service. Working with the Client Partner and Exec Business Director, you’ll own campaign development and delivery — taking briefs, collaborating with specialists across the agency and acting as a key client contact throughout. Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in collaborating with partner agencies across creative, PR, social content and sports management.
You’ll also manage and develop junior team members, driving both commercial opportunities for the agency and best-in-class work for your clients.
This role offers variety, responsibility and continuous development — so every day brings something new.

• Lead and collaborate with internal and external teams to build cohesive campaigns and smart, audience-led comms plans, coordinating delivery and analysing performance to provide actionable insights
• Oversee client briefs strategically, thinking on your feet and responding directly to challenging questions
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial management, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time, on budget and to ROI targets
• Develop and deliver clear, compelling performance reports on campaign progress, results and strategic recommendations
• Mentor and support junior team members, guiding cross-functional teams to deliver effective campaigns
• Stay ahead of industry trends, continuously improving processes, tools and methods to enhance client service and campaign effectiveness
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building strong client relationships, managing expectations and delivering best-in-class service
• A positive, growth mindset, with the ability to “look round corners” and spot the next big opportunity in media, digital or culture
• You can illustrate strong comms planning experience using audience and industry tools
• You can demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to organise a team around client goals
• Comfortable presenting strategies and performance results to clients and stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines at once, prioritising tasks and allocating resources to ensure accuracy and quality across all deliverables.
• Informed about emerging technologies, including AI, and open to exploring how automation and AI can enhance creativity, performance and efficiency in media.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of client service professionals, creating a positive culture and driving performance. Evidence of leading and working with cross-discipline squads to solve client problems
