What the role is

Our Project Manager II leads the day-to-day development and management of multiple projects from initiation through completion. They partner with Studio Leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality. A Project Manager II proactively manages schedules, financial performance, staffing, consultant coordination, and client expectations while identifying opportunities to improve project outcomes.

Project Leadership + Delivery:

  • Proactively guide multiple projects through the internal system, identifying risks early and developing contingency plans before issues impact schedule, budget, or scope.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities and maintaining exceptional client service.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and communicate project status, milestones, and risks to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive schedule adherence across internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and other project partners.
  • Facilitate internal design reviews and cross-functional coordination.

Financial + Scope Management:

  • Maintain organized project files, documentation, revisions, and updates.
  • Own the financial performance of assigned projects, including budgets, forecasting, vendor billing, expense tracking, profitability, and financial reporting.
  • Track project hours and utilization to ensure efficiency and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability.
  • Monitor project scope throughout delivery and collaborate with Business Leadership to develop additional service requests, change orders, and fee adjustments when appropriate.

Resource + Team Coordination:

  • Uphold the confidentiality of our clients and FUTUREBRAND’s proprietary information.
  • Coordinate and oversee staff resources, partnering with Studio Leadership and Resource Management to ensure projects are appropriately staffed.
  • Forecast upcoming resource needs and communicate staffing requirements to support current and future project planning.
  • Develop and maintain project matrices, schedules, specifications, quantities, finishes, and production information.
  • Manage vendor and consultant relationships to ensure deliverables are accurate, on schedule, and within budget.

Business Development + Client Support:

  • Participate in business development efforts by supporting proposals, fee development, project scoping, and client presentations.
  • Assist with product purchasing, retail site audits, and installation coordination as required.

Knowledge + Skills

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and develop proactive solutions.
  • Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
  • Strong client service mindset with excellent written and verbal communication.

Education + Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of project management experience within a design consultancy, architecture/interior design firm, branding agency, retail design firm, or consumer products organization.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, consultant coordination, and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience participating in proposals, fee development, or business development is preferred.
  • Experience with project management, resource planning, and financial tracking software.
