2. Purpose and Context

FNZ has deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations as a core global finance platform. Following global go-live, the Finance Systems team is strengthening permanent in-house capability to stabilise the platform, support Finance operations, deliver controlled improvements and prepare for future modules and entity deployments.

This is a hands-on functional role reporting to the Finance Systems Functional Lead - Finance & Operations. The role holder will configure and support D365, investigate issues, translate Finance requirements into workable solutions, produce documentation and test evidence, and contribute to controlled releases and continuous improvement.

The position requires practical D365 Finance experience. It is not a coordination-only or general business analyst role. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly in the application, partnering with Finance users and technical teams, and taking assigned work through to a documented and supportable outcome.

3. Key Responsibilities

D365 Functional Support and Configuration

· Provide hands-on functional support across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank, Fixed Assets, Expense Management, Project Accounting and Financial Reporting.

· Configure approved changes in D365 under the direction and design authority of the D365 Functional Lead.

· Analyse business requirements, current processes and system behaviour; document solution options, functional requirements and acceptance criteria.

· Maintain accurate configuration, process and support documentation so that knowledge is retained within FNZ.

Incident, Close and Operational Support

· Investigate functional incidents and service requests, reproduce issues, identify root causes and coordinate resolution with Finance users, technical teams and vendors.

· Support month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations and business-critical finance processing, including agreed out-of-hours support where required.

· Distinguish defects, data issues, training needs and enhancement requests, ensuring each is progressed through the appropriate support or change process.

· Contribute to the upkeep of known-error records, support procedures, knowledge articles and recurring-issue analysis.

Change, Testing and Release Delivery

· Prepare functional specifications, process flows, test scenarios, test data and expected results for approved changes.

· Execute system, integration and regression testing; support business users with user acceptance testing and evidence capture.

· Assess the impact of proposed changes on modules, integrations, reporting, data, security and financial controls.

· Support release planning, deployment readiness, post-release validation and early-life support.

Data, Integrations and Reporting

· Support finance master data, financial dimensions, posting profiles, workflows, opening balances, sub-ledger data and intercompany processing.

· Investigate functional issues affecting interfaces with banking, payments, expense, tax, consolidation and reporting platforms.

· Work with Data and Reporting teams to validate D365 outputs and support reconciliation of reports to the general ledger.

· Assist with data migration, cleansing, mapping, validation and reconciliation for future deployments and entity onboarding.

Controls, Documentation and Governance

· Follow Finance Systems governance for demand intake, design approval, environments, testing, release and production change.

· Produce clear and complete evidence for configuration changes, testing, approvals and deployments.

· Support segregation-of-duties reviews, access-control testing, ITGC evidence and audit requests relating to assigned areas.

· Escalate control, data-integrity and operational risks promptly to the D365 Functional Lead.

Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Transfer

· Identify opportunities to use standard D365 capability, simplify processes, reduce manual work and improve user experience.

· Contribute to the prioritised D365 backlog with evidence on business impact, risk, urgency and delivery effort.

· Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to Finance users and Finance Systems colleagues.

· Develop broader cross-module capability while maintaining deeper expertise in allocated functional areas.

4. Required Skills and Experience

Essential

· 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations / Dynamics AX functional experience, with substantial exposure to finance modules.

· Practical configuration experience in at least three core areas such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank, Fixed Assets, Expense Management or Project Accounting.

· Good understanding of Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes, including close, reconciliation and financial-control requirements.

· Experience creating functional requirements, solution documentation, test scripts, test evidence and user guidance.

· Experience investigating production issues and working with technical teams on integrations, data fixes and extensions.

· Experience of system, integration, regression and user acceptance testing, together with controlled release and post-deployment validation.

· Ability to work directly in D365, analyse system behaviour and progress assigned work independently within agreed design and governance standards.

· Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to work effectively with Finance users, global colleagues and external delivery partners.

· Disciplined approach to documentation, knowledge sharing, prioritisation and escalation.

Preferred

· Finance or accounting qualification, or equivalent practical experience in a Finance Systems environment.

· Experience in financial services, fintech, asset servicing or another regulated, multi-entity environment.

· Knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, segregation of duties and ITGC requirements.

· Experience with D365 Consolidation, Treasury and Cash Management, Project Accounting, Subscription Billing or Revenue Recognition.

· Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Workiva, Azure DevOps or finance-data integrations.

· Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate certification or equivalent evidence of current D365 Finance capability.

5. Success Measures

· Assigned incidents and service requests are investigated thoroughly, documented clearly and resolved or escalated within agreed priorities.

· Configuration and change deliverables are accurate, supportable and aligned with approved functional designs.

· Testing is comprehensive, with traceable scenarios, results, defects and evidence.

· Month-end, year-end and business-critical processing receive reliable functional support.

· Documentation and knowledge transfer reduce reliance on individual contractors and external partners.

· Continuous-improvement items deliver measurable operational, control or user-experience benefits.

· Finance stakeholders and Finance Systems colleagues experience responsive, practical and dependable support.

6. Employment Terms and Ways of Working

· Permanent, full-time appointment into FNZ Technology (India) Private Limited [legal employing entity to be confirmed by HR].

· Direct reporting line to the Finance Systems Functional Lead - Finance & Operations and integration into the global Finance Systems team.

· Standard FNZ India employment terms, benefits, leave, probation and notice provisions apply, subject to HR confirmation.

· Appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, right-to-work verification and any role-specific screening.

· UK/EU hours overlap is expected for regular collaboration, with flexibility around critical close, release and incident periods.

· All work must comply with FNZ information-security, data-protection, acceptable-use, change-control and records-management requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
