About FAS (Football Analytics Solutions)

FAS is a data and technology company focused on uncovering the hidden patterns that shape football performance. We've been operating under the radar for close to a year, and while we're still flying close to the ground we're finally coming out of stealth mode.

By processing millions of data points per game, we combine proprietary computer vision, structured film analysis, and applied football expertise to deliver insights used by teams, coaches, and performance staff across the sport, and we're looking to upend the status quo in the market. Our work sits at the intersection of football knowledge and data precision. The quality of our outputs depends on people who understand the game deeply and can apply that understanding consistently at scale. Film Analysts are a critical part of that process.

Role Overview

As a Film Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing football game film and transforming on-field actions into structured, high-quality data. Your work directly supports the models, insights, and analyses produced by our engineering and data science teams.

This role requires strong football acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to apply defined standards consistently across large volumes of film. Analysts work independently within clearly defined workflows while collaborating closely with quality reviewers and operations leads.

This is an execution-focused role where accuracy, consistency, and reliability matter as much as football knowledge.

This is a part-time role.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze full-game and situational football film using proprietary, browser-based tooling Identify, label, and categorize plays, player actions, alignments, techniques, and outcomes according to established definitions and standards Apply written and video-based directives to ensure consistent interpretation of football concepts across games and teams Process high volumes of film within established turnaround timelines, including nights and weekends during peak game periods Maintain strict quality benchmarks for accuracy, completeness, and internal consistency Participate in quality review workflows, including feedback loops and rework when necessary Communicate clearly with team leads regarding questions, edge cases, or workflow blockers Contribute to the ongoing refinement of tagging standards and operational processes through feedback and observations

Traits, Skills, and Requirements

Deep understanding of football concepts, including formations, coverages, fronts, techniques, and positional responsibilities Strong familiarity with football terminology and common coaching language Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify subtle differences in player actions and assignments Proven ability to perform repetitive, detail-oriented work without sacrificing accuracy Comfort working with structured rulesets and applying them consistently across many similar tasks Ability to intake and follow detailed written and video instructions Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfort using web-based tools, video playback systems, and data labeling interfaces Clear and professional communication skills in both one-on-one and team environments Availability to meet variable workloads tied to game schedules, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Background

Experience playing, coaching, or evaluating football at the high school, collegiate, or professional level Prior experience with film breakdown, scouting, or data tagging Familiarity with multiple offensive and defensive systems Experience working in analytics, data operations, or performance departments is a plus

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Consistently high accuracy scores across assigned games On-time completion of film assignments during peak periods Minimal rework required following quality review Clear, proactive communication when encountering ambiguity or novel situations Demonstrated reliability and consistency over time

Why Work With Us

Be part of a team that is going to upend how modern football is analyzed and understood Work directly with cutting-edge data products without needing to be a software engineer Flexible, remote-friendly work structure Opportunity to deepen football knowledge while contributing to real analytical outcomes Collaborative environment with clear expectations and defined standards

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
