Working under the direction of a Foreman or Construction Manager, you will contribute to the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of high- and low-voltage transmission and distribution systems.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an Apprentice Lineman Technician or experienced utility construction professional looking to build trade skills and progress toward Lineman certification. You will work as part of a field crew, gaining practical experience across transmission and distribution projects while developing your ability to interpret construction drawings, troubleshoot electrical systems, and work safely in varying conditions.

Key Elements of the Role

  • Assist with the construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.
  • Install and maintain power lines, cables, electrical equipment, and related components, including assisting with underground cable work in trenches and other work areas.
  • Inspect electrical systems and components, identify defects or damage, and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Follow company Occupational Health and Safety requirements, project procedures, and safe work practices, identifying hazards and applying appropriate controls before and during work.
  • Develop the ability to interpret and follow site plans, construction drawings, and work instructions.
  • Work with Foremen, Construction Managers, and crew members to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently, communicating work progress, hazards, and field conditions.
  • Participate in training and complete required documentation while working toward Lineman certification.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum six months of experience as an Apprentice Lineman Technician or in a related role within the electrical utility, transmission, distribution, or powerline construction industry.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and manual labour in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
  • Ability to accurately distinguish color-coded electrical conductors and components.
  • Strong awareness of electrical construction hazards and the ability to follow established safety procedures and controls.
  • Strong listening, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to take direction, work effectively with a field crew, and work independently with minimal supervision when required.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s abstract.
  • Experience working on overhead or underground transmission and distribution systems is preferred. Relevant lineman, electrical, or utility construction training is an asset.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
