As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.
You will develop and apply discrete event simulation models to evaluate and optimize Final Assembly manufacturing systems. You will use simulation to identify throughput constraints, evaluate system performance, and provide data-driven recommendations that support manufacturing planning and operational decisions.
Responsibilities
- Build and develop discrete event simulation models for Final Assembly operations, including Tire & Wheel, End of Line, sequencing banks, and other sub-assembly areas.
- Develop simulation input interfaces using benchmark availability data, cycle times, and other manufacturing inputs.
- Analyze simulation results and provide recommendations related to throughput constraints, carrier quantities, buffer utilization, sensitivity analysis, line speeds, and overall system performance.
- Identify simulation-related throughput issues and drive cross-functional resolution.
- Develop and communicate simulation conclusions and recommendations to VME Management, Plant Management, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide MTBF/MTTR benchmarks to support Factory Information System and IIoT monitoring activities.
- Document simulation assumptions, inputs, results, and recommendations to support manufacturing and program decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of Final Assembly manufacturing processes.
- Strong technical experience with Plant Simulation, Simul8, or other discrete event simulation software.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and/or C++.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage complex projects with multiple objectives and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver customer-focused solutions.
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
