Job Description

Bring your people skills and problem-solving abilities to a rewarding opportunity at Ford. With support from the Global Security leadership team in Dearborn, our team is professional, well-trained, and committed to creating a safe environment.

In this position…

The Manager, Investigations & New Product Security leads an integrated security team responsible for protecting the company’s people, information, products, facilities, and operations. The role combines proactive security planning for new products and launches with oversight of global investigations, intelligence, incident response, and executive security support. The manager sets priorities, develops people and consistent practices, and partners across a highly matrixed organization to assess risk, respond to incidents, and reduce loss, disruption, and reputational harm.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do…

Leadership, strategy & operating practices

  • Lead and develop direct and matrix-reporting personnel, including investigators and global team members; set annual objectives, team priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure team members have appropriate access to investigative tools and systems and receive role-appropriate training.
  • Build effective integration frameworks, procedures, playbooks, and reporting practices that promote consistent, high-quality security and investigation deliverables.
  • Manage complex projects and processes across a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization; build credibility and trust with partners and communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Apply company procedures and Global Security best practices when handling confidential, proprietary, and otherwise sensitive information in digital and physical forms.

New product security & launch protection

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct security operations for new-product activities, including photo and video shoots, testimonials, media content, product launches, prototype transportation, security vendors, and secure storage.
  • Protect intellectual property, prototypes, product information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, and materials from unauthorized disclosure or misuse, theft, tampering, espionage, sabotage, assault, vandalism, or loss.
  • Lead end-to-end product-security incident response and investigations for assigned launches, including leaks, vulnerabilities, and other product-related incidents; coordinate response and lessons learned with relevant teams.
  • Assess risks and strengthen security operations using sound risk-management, physical-security, and security-management practices; partner with specialist teams to identify, protect against, and prevent insider threats.
  • Learn and account for complex manufacturing and supply-chain processes and tailor protection measures to real-world operating conditions.

Investigations, intelligence & incident response

  • Oversee global investigations, including investigations of major company-policy violations and highly sensitive internal inquiries involving executives or Corporate Security & Fire personnel; personally lead matters when warranted.
  • Triage information from global tip-line calls and other sources to determine whether investigation or escalation is appropriate; oversee Usual and Unusual Event investigation, reporting, and maintenance of a worldwide event database.
  • Oversee global intelligence operations and maintain appropriate liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners.
  • Respond to behavioral incidents as required and coordinate security responses for sensitive workforce events, including armed responses for layoffs and terminations in the Dearborn area, consistent with policy and applicable law.
  • Use sound interviewing, analytical, and decision-making practices; appropriately leverage people, technology, information, and tactics to minimize risk and protect the company’s reputation.

Qualifications

You’ll have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically, at least 10 years of combined security, law enforcement, investigative, or closely related experience, with demonstrated investigative experience. Relevant new product security experience is strongly valued.
  • Experience conducting complex, multifaceted investigations.
  • Demonstrated people management capability, including leading direct and matrix teams; strong project management, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience managing global or geographically distributed investigative teams and coordinating with law enforcement.
  • Strong interviewing, analytical, decision-making, and incident management skills, including the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly and exercise sound judgment.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use investigative systems, tools, and information sources.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, on short notice and to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as needed.

**Must possess, and maintain, a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) and demonstrate firearm proficiency as a condition of hire. For assignments involving armed response or executive protection, maintain required qualifications and certifications for the applicable jurisdiction and company policy. Requirements may vary by country, location, and assignment; confirm applicable requirements with the manager or local HR representative.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
