You will join a dedicated team developing innovative SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) solutions, including routing protocols, policy-based routing, link quality measurement, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and AI-based routing algorithms.

You enjoy tackling complex technical challenges and take pride in writing clean, efficient, and well-structured code. You leverage existing tools and develop new ones to streamline development processes, allowing you to focus on delivering impactful solutions. Most importantly, you are eager to learn, grow, and continuously improve, contributing to the ongoing innovation and excellence of FortiGate products.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain software components that support our TCP/IP stack and SD-WAN feature set.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, application-layer protocols, and software development best practices, and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Promote and uphold high standards of software design, coding quality, and maintainability.
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancements through hands-on experience with Fortinet products.
  • Research and explore emerging technologies to enhance existing and future AI-based SD-WAN routing algorithms.
  • Evaluate and refine existing software designs and implementations to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming and software development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience developing software in Linux or UNIX-like environments.
  • Solid understanding of Operating System, TCP/IP networking, POSIX APIs, and socket programming.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and development methodologies.

Assets:

  • Understanding of networking and cybersecurity concepts, particularly RIP/OSPF/BGP protocols and their implementation.
  • Familiarity with machine learning (ML) and deep learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, and AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face.
  • Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Small Language Models (SLMs), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), including prompt engineering, embeddings, fine-tuning, model inference, and resource-efficient AI deployment in Linux or embedded environments.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX system administration and server management.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is considered an asset.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
