· Obtain and record health andmedical history, perform physical examination on patient prior to surgery.

• Perform preoperative evaluation.

• Provide direct patient carebefore, during, and after procedures requiring surgery.

• Make professional decisions forsurgical care based upon a comprehensive health assessment.

• Maintain professional standards ofhealth care before, during, and after a surgery.

• Prepare and evaluate the safety ofoperating equipment, supplies and drugs used intra-operatively.

• Assist surgeons intra-operativelywhen scrubbed up.

• Assist in circulating forsurgeries when not scrubbed up.

• Ensure correct patient, correctsite, correct surgery, and correct swab count in all surgeries.

• Ensure correct documentation isdone.

• Assist in cleaning, packing andsterilization of instruments accordingly to the TSSU standard.

• Ensuring consent for surgicalprocedure is signed.

• Maintaining the cleanliness of theOT.

• Ensure that billing of consumablesused during intra-operatively are all correct.

• To support in any other task asinstructed by the Nurse Manager or Medical Director
