Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Alignment & Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between market/facility leadership and enterprise IT, ensuring market and facility needs are represented in system-wide planning and that enterprise strategies are effectively implemented locally.
  • Participate in enterprise governance councils and contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance, cybersecurity, and technology standards.
  • Lead the market's IT strategic planning process, aligning technology initiatives with market, facility, and enterprise goals.

2. Operational Excellence & Service Delivery

  • Oversee day-to-day market-level IT operations across assigned facilities, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and support services, ensuring high availability and performance of clinical and business systems.
  • Ensure IT service management processes, incident response, and change management are consistently implemented and monitored across the market in accordance with enterprise policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) and participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.

3. Project & Change Management

  • Lead or support enterprise IT initiatives across all market facilities, including EHR upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and projects to reduce technical debt within the market's data center.
  • Champion change management, staff training, and the adoption of new technologies by leveraging enterprise resources and best practices.

4. Collaboration & Relationship Building

  • Foster strong relationships with market/facility leadership, clinical teams, and enterprise IT peers to ensure technology solutions meet operational and clinical needs.
  • Engage with external vendors and partners as needed, following enterprise procurement and vendor management guidelines.

5. Financial Stewardship

  • Collaborate with market/facility financial leaders to support cost containment strategies and ensure technology initiatives align with organizational priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings, and revenue generation through technology.

6. Talent Management & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the market's IT team, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Support enterprise talent initiatives, including workforce planning, succession management, and staff engagement.

7. Performance Improvement & Innovation

  • Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery using data analytics, benchmarking, and enterprise performance metrics.
  • Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging the adoption of emerging technologies that advance patient care, operational efficiency, and data security.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent 7+ years of related IT leadership experience).
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive IT management and leadership experience, ideally within a multi-site healthcare environment. Demonstrated experience in hospital IT operations, Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, cybersecurity, and project management. Strong background in managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and multidisciplinary technology teams.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Deep understanding of healthcare industry best practices, regulatory compliance standards (HIPAA, HITECH), and emerging healthtech trends. Proven track record in IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), incident response, and change enablement. Outstanding leadership, executive communication, and relationship-building capabilities across clinical and administrative operational teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
