Frank is a newly established legal advisory company created to modernize how businesses access legal services.

Built in response to structural changes in the legal market, Frank operates a tech-enabled, subscription-based legal advisory model serving scaleups and mid-market companies. By combining strong legal expertise with technology and a product-oriented delivery model, Frank delivers high-quality legal advice in a more predictable, efficient and scalable way.

Frank is owned 50/50 by Skeil, a venture studio with experience building professional services companies, and Molteberg Nilsen, an established law firm. This structure provides commercial freedom combined with strong legal credibility.

The Role

We are looking for a Head of Legal to ensure high and consistent legal quality across all client deliveries.

This role holds overall responsibility for legal quality, methodology and professional standards within Frank, and reports directly to the CEO.

The role is primarily operational and advisory, not administrative. You will maintain your own client portfolio while acting as the senior legal authority, quality assurer and sparring partner for the legal team.

The role does not include formal personnel responsibility, but carries clear professional leadership responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Quality and Professional Leadership

  • Have overall responsibility for building, developing and scaling the legal team
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, learning and development of jurists
  • Ensure that all legal services meet high and consistent professional standards
  • Establish frameworks, methodologies and routines that enable quality and scalability
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for less experienced jurists
  • Build a strong team culture with clear expectations, feedback and development
  • Plan team capacity and allocate legal competence across client work
  • Act as the legal backbone of the organisation as Frank grows
  • Be part of the leadership team and contribute to strategy, growth and scalability

Operational Legal Delivery

  • Manage your own portfolio of client assignments
  • Handle matters across employment law, contract law and corporate law
  • Support prioritisation and resource allocation across cases
  • Ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are managed

Structure, Methodology and Scalability

  • Develop and maintain legal playbooks, templates and standardised approaches
  • Contribute to the design of scalable service offerings
  • Support implementation of technology and AI tools in legal delivery
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, optimisation and quality improvement

Collaboration and Culture

  • Work closely with the CEO on legal direction and service development
  • Act as a role model for professionalism, quality and work ethic
  • Prioritise team needs when required to ensure delivery continuity

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a highly experienced lawyer with a strong commercial mindset, such as:

  • Background from a business law firm or legal advisory environment
  • Experience from legal teams within Big Four or similar

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a qualified lawyer
  • Solid experience from business-oriented legal advisory work
  • Broad legal competence, particularly within employment law, contract law and corporate law
  • Proven experience with legal quality assurance and review
  • Experience mentoring and guiding other lawyers or jurists
  • Strong commercial understanding and client orientation
