Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on how cost segregation strategies may impact their tax position, financial statements, and cash flow.
  • Review property information and prepare or validate estimated benefit analyses for prospective engagements.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with external cost segregation providers, by helping scope projects, review deliverables, and resolve outstanding items.
  • Review completed cost segregation studies for accuracy and help ensure results are appropriately reflected in client tax filings.
  • Partner with tax teams on depreciation schedules, accounting method changes, and other fixed-asset considerations.
  • Provide technical guidance related to MACRS depreciation, bonus depreciation, Section 179, Qualified Improvement Property, Tangible Property Regulations, partial asset dispositions, and depreciation recapture.
  • Support matters involving Form 3115 and Section 481(a) adjustments, Section 1031 exchanges, Sections 179D and 45L, and related federal and state depreciation considerations.
  • Support practice leadership with client meetings, business development opportunities, and internal training.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and external service providers.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.
  • Active Certified Cost Segregation Professional (CCSP) designation and membership in good standing with the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals (ASCSP) required.
  • 7+ years of direct, hands-on cost segregation experience, including preparing and/or reviewing cost segregation studies.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent designation, or relevant engineering or construction background, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax implications associated with cost segregation, depreciation, deductions, and timing.
  • Experience with accounting method changes, including Form 3115 and Section 481(a) adjustments.
  • Strong knowledge of MACRS, bonus depreciation, Section 179, Qualified Improvement Property, Tangible Property Regulations, partial asset dispositions, and depreciation recapture.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for clients and internal teams.
  • Strong client service, relationship management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience within a cost segregation firm, public accounting firm, fixed-asset practice, or specialized tax consulting environment preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
