Position Overview:

Single Family Affordable Lending at Freddie Mac is a strategic leadership role responsible for advancing the company’s mission to expand equitable, sustainable access to homeownership. The role leads the development and execution of a comprehensive affordable lending playbook designed to meet Affordable Housing Goals (AHGs), Duty to Serve (DTS) commitments, and broader enterprise objectives within compliance with the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s (FHFA) Duty to Serve rules. This includes aligning business priorities, market insights, lender engagement strategies, product capabilities, managing small set up accounts, and cross-functional execution plans to drive measurable impact for underserved borrowers and communities.

Our Impact:

As a Freddie Mac Affordable Lending Manager, you will drive mission-critical strategies that expand sustainable homeownership, increase lender adoption of affordable lending solutions, and deliver measurable impact in underserved communities. By translating market insights, community needs, and affordable housing goals into actionable execution plans, you will help reduce barriers to access, strengthen liquidity in targeted markets, and advance Freddie Mac’s commitment to making home possible for more families.

Your Impact:

  • Strategy & Optimization: Create and manage strategies to optimize lender mix, product mix, and capital markets engagement to meet AHG and DTS targets.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Monitor daily acquisition data to adjust strategies, ensuring compliance with DTS goals, return metrics, and balanced scorecard objectives.
  • Partnership Management: Collaborate with Seller Engagement team, Pricing, and Capital Markets teams to drive adoption of affordable products.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Guide teams on targeting volume and optimizing qualitative objectives within the affordable lending space.
  • Reporting: Provide actionable insights and progress updates to senior leadership regarding goal attainment.
  • Client Relations Support: Support a small client base within your region that will include all Freddie Mac tools and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 8+ years of related experience in mortgage lending, affordable housing, or strategy
  • Industry Knowledge, comprehensive command of GSE guidelines, Freddie Mac Seller/Servicer Guide Policies, and affordable lending.
  • Deep understanding of affordable housing goals, Duty to Serve (DTS) regulations, and mortgage products
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret daily acquisition data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams across the organization to drive execution and results.
  • Ability to influence sellers to adopt new products, services, and delivery strategies that support Freddie Mac’s Duty to Serve objectives.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to train large groups effectively in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver growth, meet company-defined goals, and sustain measurable business impact.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
