The Principal Brand Designer is a senior individual contributor responsible for shaping, evolving, and executing FreedomPay’s global visual identity. This role combines strategic design leadership with hands-on creative execution, translating business objectives into distinctive, cohesive brand experiences across customer and employee touchpoints. The role leads through design expertise, creative direction, and cross-functional influence rather than direct people management, while owning brand standards and supporting the rollout of the new global identity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, evolve, and champion the FreedomPay visual identity system across all channels and regions, translating brand strategy into distinctive, scalable design solutions.
  • Serve as the primary authority on brand standards, ensuring consistent application across marketing, product, sales, events, partnerships, recruiting, and corporate communications.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines, governance frameworks, and approval processes.
  • Provide creative direction and actionable design feedback to internal partners, agencies, and freelancers; review and approve assets for visual quality, brand consistency, and effective communication.
  • Educate and enable teams throughout the organization on proper brand usage and best practices.
  • Lead priority design projects from concept through production, creating high-quality brand assets for campaigns, digital channels, sales presentations, events, partnerships, recruiting, and corporate communications.
  • Develop creative concepts and articulate the design rationale, connecting visual decisions to business objectives, audience needs, and brand strategy.
  • Build reusable templates, visual frameworks, and asset libraries that enable teams to create consistent materials efficiently.
  • Partner with Product and UX to align brand expression across touchpoints while respecting product usability and established experience design systems.
  • Apply strong typography, layout, color, imagery, and visual storytelling to deliver production-ready work across digital and print formats.
  • Lead the design execution and rollout of the company’s new global brand identity, translating the identity into practical applications, launch assets, and scalable templates.
  • Partner with executive leadership, marketing, product, UX, sales, and external agencies to operationalize the new brand across all customer and employee touchpoints.
  • Conduct and maintain an ongoing audit of branded assets, identifying opportunities for updates and optimization.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in brand design, visual identity, or visual communications, with substantial hands-on responsibility for complex, multi-channel design work.
  • 3+ years providing senior-level design leadership on brand identity systems or major creative initiatives, including setting creative direction and influencing stakeholders; direct people-management experience is not required.
  • Proven experience owning and managing a comprehensive corporate brand across multiple channels and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience managing, evolving, and scaling global brands across regions and markets.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale brand transformations or rebranding initiatives.
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and creative vendors.
  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional design craft, original concept development, scalable visual identity systems, and execution across digital and print channels, with clear explanations of personal contributions and design decisions.
  • Expert knowledge of visual identity systems, typography, composition, color, visual storytelling, and brand governance, with the ability to translate these principles into polished, production-ready design.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, PowerPoint, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, responsive web design principles, accessible visual communication, content systems, customer experience, and print production requirements.
  • Experience working with digital asset management platforms and creative workflow systems.
  • Working knowledge of AI-enabled creative tools and workflows, with the ability to identify practical opportunities to improve creative efficiency, streamline production, and scale asset development while maintaining brand standards.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain design decisions, build alignment with executive stakeholders, and incorporate constructive feedback.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across a complex organization.
  • Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and a commitment to design excellence.
  • Comfortable operating as a senior hands-on designer, balancing long-term brand evolution with day-to-day execution and raising design quality through critique, knowledge sharing, and creative guidance.

Success Metrics

  • Successful rollout and adoption of the new global brand identity.
  • Delivery of high-quality, strategically aligned design work against agreed briefs, timelines, and production requirements.
  • Increased brand consistency across all channels and business units.
  • Reduction in off-brand creative assets and exceptions.
  • Improved creative request turnaround times and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Establishment of scalable governance, asset management, and approval processes.
  • High adoption of templates, brand resources, and self-service tools across the organization.

Preferred Background

  • Experience within B2B technology, SaaS, fintech, payments, or enterprise software. Experience supporting global organizations with multiple market segments and stakeholders. Familiarity with event marketing, partner marketing, product marketing, and executive communications. Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Product, UX, Partners, Sales, and executive stakeholders to deliver cohesive brand experiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
