About the Role

Freestone is seeking a proactive and professional individual to serve as a Portfolio Manager as part of our Investment Team. • Provide capital market acumen to help formulate market views and ensure incorporation into portfolios on a timely basis
  • Mentor junior investment team members
  • Manage relationships with our third-party SMA providers

Research

  • Partner closely with our CIO and Head of Investments in order to capture best ideas for our global equity platform
  • Complete analytical reviews of managers, strategies, and asset classes
  • Conduct onsite manager due diligence
  • Analyze and recommend new candidate managers in equities and bonds
  • Draft and publish public market research for internal and external audiences

Client Service and Sales

  • Collaborate with our investment strategist, as well as compliance and marketing to produce quarterly commentary for client advisory teams
  • Help us to tell our story with an eye toward generating new business
  • Partner with our investment strategist to respond to ongoing questions from our client advisor teams regarding our equity and bond offerings
  • Build the team’s reputation for professional excellence and credibility within Freestone and throughout the investment management community

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of public market investment experience at an RIA, an asset manager, or as a sell-side analyst
  • CFA, CAIA, or other similar credential a plus
  • Strong client service orientation with a grasp of key issues impacting high net worth clients
  • Sound investment judgment and risk management
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets
  • Strong analytical track record, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Appetite for innovation and high tolerance for change, complexity, and unpredictability with a “roll up your sleeves” mentality
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including drafting and giving presentations
  • Ability to identify and describe key risk exposures and portfolio characteristics
  • Results- and performance-oriented, with comfort working in a collaborative team environment
  • Highest level of commitment to ethics and professionalism
  • Higher energy and conviction a plus
  • Humble and kind
  • Ability to travel periodically as needed

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
