Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical partner for customers, providing application engineering support for sealing solutions across automotive, industrial, and emerging electrification platforms.
- Develop sealing system recommendations for static and dynamic applications, including O-rings, custom elastomeric components, and advanced sealing technologies used in eMobility applications.
- Collaborate directly with customer engineering teams to evaluate requirements, interpret technical specifications, and develop optimized sealing solutions that improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Lead root cause investigations utilizing warranty data, field performance analysis, teardown reviews, and laboratory testing to identify failure modes and implement corrective actions.
- Create and modify 2D and 3D seal designs using CAD tools while supporting design reviews, engineering changes, validation activities, and customer documentation requirements.
- Partner with materials, tribology, CAE, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams to solve complex technical challenges and accelerate product development activities.
- Support customer visits, technical reviews, product launches, value engineering initiatives, and new business opportunities while serving as a trusted engineering advisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Three or more years of experience in Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Customer Engineering, Design Engineering, Validation Engineering, Technical Sales Engineering, or a related engineering role within automotive, industrial, fluid power, sealing, rotating equipment, powertrain, thermal management, motion control, or manufacturing industries.
- Experience supporting customer-facing engineering activities with Automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or industrial manufacturing customers, including technical discussions, design reviews, application support, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Experience supporting product performance investigations, root cause analysis, validation testing, engineering design activities, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD, or similar design tools, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, validation reports, and customer requirements.
- Experience with sealing systems, elastomers, gaskets, radial shaft seals, fluid sealing technologies, bearings, fluid power systems, rotating equipment, thermal management products, or other engineered industrial components.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lead technical discussions while supporting electrification, hybrid, EV, battery, emerging mobility, or other advanced engineering applications.
