Job Description
A Senior Test Engineer is responsible for developing test solutions for validation, characterization, qualification, and production of new products and technology produced by Frontgrade. This role includes the specification, design, development, debug, verification, and release of new test solutions (hardware, software, and documentation) for integrated circuits, single board computers, module and box level missions processing systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop test solutions (hardware and software) for characterization and production test of circuit card assemblies/modules/boxes and integrated circuits
- Analyze data sheets and specifications to identify test requirements.
- Coordinate with designers, software engineers, and manufacturing to develop test plans.
- Develop schematics and assembly drawings.
- Design, model, build, debug, and verify physical hardware for test fixtures, setups, cabling, and test interfaces.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives in test development as well as support events in other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
- Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CS), or Computer Science (CS)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Test Engineering using lab test equipment, (e.g. oscilloscopes, bit error rate testers, network analyzers, etc.).OR (9) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree OR (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree
- Experience in board level test development and debug including software and hardware design
- Experience with National Instruments LabView, C++, and or Python in a development environment
- Strong knowledge of electronics including the ability to generate/read schematics, assembly drawings and parts lists
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires USA Citizenship
Preferred
- Knowledge of software engineering concepts. Programming in C, C++, Python
- Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout tools like PADs or Altium
- Knowledge of ATE test equipment and test solutions
- Knowledge of radiation test considerations and concepts
