About Frontline Wildfire Defense

Founded in 2017, Frontline developed the first fully integrated wildfire defense system to stop the leading cause of home loss in wildfires: ember-driven ignition. The system combines exterior sprinklers, full-coverage design, and connected software for remote monitoring and response, allowing homes to protect themselves long after families evacuate or infrastructure fails.

Proven effective during the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, 96% of homes with Frontline systems survived. That success has earned top industry recognition, including Frontline being recognized as one of TIME’s Best Inventions 2025 in the Green Tech category and receiving the PCBC Gold Nugget Award for “Most Innovative Housing Concept” and the Best of IBS Award for “Best Home Technology.”

As wildfires grow hotter and more frequent, our vision is to give people the tools and strategies to live safely with fire. We’re building a mission-driven team creating real-world solutions in wildfire safety and climate tech.

About This Opportunity

Frontline is growing its Product and Technology teams, and we’re looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to lead that hiring. As a generalist, you will own full-cycle recruiting across software, hardware, data, and cloud, from the connected controller to the apps and fire data behind it.

You will recruit roles such that span front-end (web and mobile), backend and infrastructure (Elixir, AWS), embedded firmware (Linux, IoT), electro-mechanical, reliability and quality, data/ML, and product design. You will partner closely with our VP of Product and hiring managers to hire great people quickly.

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced technical recruiter who can speak credibly with engineers, source candidates who aren’t actively looking, and thrive in a fast-moving climate tech company where every hire matters.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Technical Recruiting

  • Own the end-to-end recruiting process for Product and Technology roles, from intake through offer acceptance, across software, hardware, and product management.
  • Run strong intake meetings with hiring managers to define the role, must-have skills, interview plan, and what success looks like.
  • Screen candidates for technical fit as well as motivation, communication, and alignment with Frontline’s mission and values.
  • Manage a high-volume, high-priority requisition load while keeping candidates and hiring managers informed at every step.

Sourcing & Pipeline Building

  • Proactively source passive technical talent using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, GitHub, technical communities, referrals, and AI-powered sourcing tools.
  • Write personalized outreach that explains Frontline’s mission and technology in a way that resonates with engineers and product leaders.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles so we can move quickly when new positions open.
  • Track source effectiveness and refine sourcing strategies based on what works.

Hiring Manager Partnership & Market Insight

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP of Product and technical hiring managers, sharing data on talent availability, competition, and compensation.
  • Help design structured, efficient interview processes, including technical assessments and scorecards, that evaluate candidates fairly and consistently.
  • Facilitate candidate debriefs and help hiring teams make timely, well-calibrated decisions.
  • Help forecast upcoming Product and Technology hiring needs and plan recruiting capacity accordingly.

Offers & Closing

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager on offer strategy, aligning compensation, level, and equity with our salary range guidelines and market data.
  • Close candidates in a competitive market by understanding their motivations and clearly communicating Frontline’s opportunity, mission, and total rewards.

Recruiting Operations & Candidate Experience

  • Keep candidate data, pipeline stages, and scorecards accurate and up to date in Greenhouse.
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, source of hire, offer acceptance rate) to drive improvements.
  • Deliver a respectful, transparent, and engaging experience for every candidate, whether or not they receive an offer.
  • Represent Frontline’s employer brand in the technical community and help build recruiting content for engineering and product audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws throughout the recruiting process.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including at least 2 years in an in-house recruiting role.
  • Proven success hiring across software engineers and hardware or engineering roles (e.g., backend, frontend, mobile, firmware/embedded, electrical, and/or mechanical engineers), data, as well as product and technical program managers.
  • Strong sourcing skills, including Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, and creative outreach to passive candidates.
  • Enough technical fluency to understand engineering and product roles, ask informed screening questions, and earn credibility with technical hiring managers and candidates.
  • A track record of closing candidates in a competitive market, including working knowledge of compensation, leveling, and equity.
  • Experience managing multiple open requisitions in a high-growth or fast-changing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with an applicant tracking system (Greenhouse preferred).
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A data-driven approach to recruiting, with experience tracking and using recruiting metrics.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Recruiting experience in climate tech, hardware, IoT, connected devices, robotics, or other physical-product companies.
  • Experience recruiting for data, GIS, AI, or machine learning roles.
  • Experience at a startup or Series A–C company where recruiting processes were still being built.
  • Experience with AI-powered sourcing and recruiting tools.
  • Experience designing structured interview processes and technical assessments with hiring teams.
  • Experience building employer brand within engineering and product communities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000 based on experience
  • Company-provided cell phone and laptop
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Flexible time off + 14 paid holidays (yes, your birthday is one of them!)
  • Work-from-home stipend to support your remote setup
  • Remote-first work environment, fostering work-life balance and autonomy
  • Company-provided equipment
  • Join a high-performing, mission-driven team doing work that truly matters
  • And much more!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
