Expression of Interest – Civil Construction Leadership Opportunities for 2027.

We’re building our pipeline for potential leadership opportunities across Fulton Hogan in 2027. If you’re a hands-on leader who knows how to bring people together, keep standards high, and get good work done safely, we’d like to hear from you.

These opportunities may suit people with experience as a Leading Hand, Foreperson or Supervisor who are ready to lead from the front. While these are leadership roles, they will also require you to be hands on with field teams from time to time. We’re after people who are just as comfortable backing their team, coordinating the work, and stepping in on site when needed.

At Fulton Hogan, Good Work is about high expectations, low ego, and people who are up for the challenge. We take the work seriously, not ourselves.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Lead teams on site to deliver work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor daily activities, resources, plant and materials.
  • Support a strong safety culture by identifying risks, holding quality pre-starts, and making sure the right controls are in place.
  • Build capable, connected crews through clear communication, guidance and day to day leadership.
  • Be willing to stay close to the work and get hands on with field teams from time to time.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Proven experience in civil construction, maintenance, infrastructure or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience leading site crews, field teams or frontline operational delivery.
  • A practical, delivery-focused approach with the ability to balance people leadership and hands-on site involvement.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and doing the job right the first time.
  • Clear communication skills, sound judgement, and a collaborative, low ego leadership style.

He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits

At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. You’ll have access to:

  • Medical insurance and Life insurance after the eligibility period.
  • KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones, up to 7%.
  • Parental leave top up payment with additional return to work support.
  • Ongoing training and development, with clear career growth and progression opportunities.
  • Great discounts at a wide range of retailers.

Ko wai mātou | About us

At Fulton Hogan, we’re here to do Good Work that matters. We’re flat, friendly, and forward moving. Titles matter less than ideas, and the best leaders here are the ones who bring people with them, stay close to the work, and lead with honesty.

We strike the balance between relaxed and razor sharp. Day to day, we keep things human. When it counts, we switch on and deliver. If you’re looking for a place where you can grow, back your team, and make a real impact without the stiff corporate vibe, you’ll fit right in.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game
