About the Role
We are hiring a Head of Enterprise Infrastructure to own the internal cloud environments that host Atlas, our proprietary platform for building and testing the AI Co-Workers we deliver to customers, along with the cloud services, enterprise repositories, LLM accounts, and tooling that support engineering and the wider organization. In this role, you’ll operate and manage these systems to the standard a global enterprise expects, setting internal service levels, evidencing compliance with our regulatory and customer obligations, managing cost with discipline, and building continuity through documented processes. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with IT, Security, Platform, and Delivery to keep our infrastructure reliable, secure, and audit-ready.
Responsibilities
- Own environment management: provisioning and maintaining internal platform environments, AICW namespace setup, and configuration parity, moving from ad hoc requests to a documented, repeatable self-service process.
- Lead release and change management for internal cloud environments, including approvals, scheduling, post-change verification, and an auditable change record.
- Own security and vulnerability remediation across internal environments to the standards and timeframes Security defines, tracking and reporting status to Security, assurance, and external auditors.
- Manage access control for enterprise systems and repositories in line with the access model Security defines, including onboarding and offboarding, periodic access reviews, and least-privilege enforcement.
- Act as major incident commander for internal environments, establishing on-call coverage and escalation paths, and running post-incident reviews that convert into permanent fixes.
- Own cloud cost reporting, forecasting, and optimization, as well as vendor and tooling management, including contract negotiation and renewals in partnership with Finance and Legal.
- Uphold enterprise-grade compliance standards, such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2, ensuring your work is independently verified by Security and fully evidenced.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hands-on operational ownership of cluster and substrate infrastructure at enterprise scale, including upgrade, patch, capacity, and lifecycle management.
- Proven release and change management within a controlled framework, producing an auditable record that stands up to external scrutiny.
- Track record of vulnerability remediation to defined service levels, working alongside an independent security function.
- Deep experience provisioning and configuring environments as code, including namespace and baseline configuration management.
- Operational access management at scale across enterprise systems, source repositories, and platform environments, with least privilege and evidenced access reviews.
- Demonstrated major incident command, including severity assessment, escalation, stakeholder communication, and post-incident improvement.
- Cloud financial management: cost reporting, forecasting, and optimization with spend attributed to teams.
- Commercial capability in cloud and vendor contract negotiation, renewals, and commitment management.
- Experience operating inside a formal control framework such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2, and supporting external audit and customer assurance.
- Demonstrated people leadership: hiring, developing, and retaining infrastructure engineers, and running sustainable on-call.
- Sound judgment about what to automate, what to document, and what to decommission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience standing up a platform or enterprise engineering function from an interim or unowned state.
- Exposure to investor or IPO diligence, or to enterprise customer security assessments, on technology operations.
- Multi-cloud operating experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Background operating infrastructure supporting an AI or data-intensive product, including model account and API tenancy management.
