Position Overview

Futurex is seeking a hands-on Hardware Assembly & Test Technician II to build, assemble, inspect, and test hardware used in our hardware security modules (HSMs) and cryptographic appliances. This role supports the transition from manufactured components to completed systems, with an emphasis on cable fabrication, chassis assembly, production quality, and dependable execution of documented test procedures.

We welcome candidates with practical mechanical or electronics experience who are eager to deepen their hardware skills. This is a technician role with opportunities to learn more advanced diagnostics, firmware provisioning, and system integration alongside experienced engineers.

About Futurex

Futurex develops enterprise-class cryptographic security solutions, including hardware security modules, key management systems, and secure cryptographic infrastructure. Our teams design, manufacture, test, and deliver products that help organizations protect sensitive information and critical transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Cable Fabrication & Hardware Assembly

· Build, terminate, label, and test cable assemblies and wiring harnesses using approved drawings and specifications.

· Assemble server chassis and cryptographic appliances; install boards, power supplies, fans, brackets, cables, and related components.

· Use hand tools, crimpers, torque tools, and basic soldering equipment safely and accurately.

· Follow assembly instructions, bills of materials, and quality standards; maintain organized workstations and proper ESD handling.

Inspection, Testing & Troubleshooting

· Perform visual inspections, continuity checks, cable testing, and documented functional tests.

· Use multimeters, cable testers, and other basic diagnostic tools to verify assemblies and identify faults.

· Recognize assembly defects, incorrect wiring, damaged components, and test failures; perform approved rework or escalate complex issues.

· Record test results, defects, corrective actions, and product traceability information accurately.

Hardware Integration & Technical Development

· Assist with installing and configuring hardware in completed HSM systems and supporting final system verification.

· Under supervision and approved procedures, assist with firmware loading, device initialization, and basic diagnostic checks.

· Learn to read schematics, troubleshoot board-level issues, and use more advanced electronics test equipment.

· Collaborate with engineering and senior technicians on recurring issues and improvements to assembly and test procedures.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED, plus approximately 1–3 years of relevant hands-on assembly, electronics, computer hardware, manufacturing, or technical trade experience; comparable training will be considered.

· Ability to assemble cables and hardware using detailed instructions, drawings, and hand tools.

· Basic electrical or mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to product quality.

· Comfort using basic test equipment or willingness to learn quickly.

· Ability to document work, follow ESD and safety procedures, and communicate issues clearly.

· Genuine interest in developing hardware and electronics troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications — Not Required

· Experience with cable termination, crimping, soldering, or wire harness fabrication.

· Familiarity with multimeters, continuity testing, PCB assemblies, or electronics repair.

· Experience building PCs, servers, networking equipment, or embedded devices.

· Technical certificate, associate degree, vocational training, or military electronics experience.

· Exposure to Linux, firmware loading, or hardware diagnostic utilities.

Candidate Profile & Growth Opportunity

The ideal candidate is dependable, precise, curious, and comfortable doing hands-on assembly work while building deeper technical capability. We value demonstrated aptitude, workmanship, and willingness to learn over a specific degree or programming background. Software coding experience is not required. With demonstrated proficiency, this position can develop toward advanced hardware integration, electronics troubleshooting, and engineering support.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
