With a rich multigenerational history and a reputation for creating and delivering products and services that delight our customers (so they can delight theirs), Galloway Company is a recognized leader in the dairy processing industry.   Join our team as a Process & Mechanical Engineer and shape the future of Galloway.  This position designs, supports, and improves liquid process manufacturing systems through process design, P&ID development, mechanical equipment optimization, and production support. This role plays a key part in continuous improvement initiatives, helping ensure our manufacturing processes, equipment, and operating procedures support safety, quality, productivity, and business objectives.   What You'll Do

Design and improve liquid process manufacturing systems and equipment. Develop and maintain process flow documentation, including P&IDs. Lead and implement process improvement projects that enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and other stakeholders throughout project planning and implementation. Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for process equipment through our Distributed Control System (DCS). Develop and provide access to key operational data, KPIs, and process monitoring tools. Support ongoing optimization and modification of manufacturing assets to meet changing customer and business needs. Participate in engineering support rotations, including occasional after-hours call-ins. Foster a positive, collaborative team environment while supporting company goals and initiatives.

  What We're Looking For

Strong mechanical and process engineering skills with a passion for continuous improvement. Experience supporting manufacturing processes and industrial equipment. Ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and implement practical solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to workplace safety, food safety, quality, and operational excellence. Flexibility to support occasional weekend, holiday, or after-hours work as needed.

  Required Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent combination of schooling and relevant experience. 5-10 years in a manufacturing setting preferred. Liquid process P&ID diagram understanding is desired. Familiarity interacting with Distributed Control System (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems is desired. Engineering experience in a project management environment is desired. Ability to work collaboratively in a highly regulated industry. Good organizational skills and ability to monitor and coordinate activities. Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, analytical, organizational, decision making, influencing skills and the ability to transfer knowledge.

Solid computer skills to include MS Office applications. AutoCAD experience is required.
