What is the role responsible for?
The Senior Automation and AI Engineer will play a key role in delivering Gamma's Corporate IT automation, integration and AI strategy. The role is responsible for designing, developing and supporting scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort and enhance service delivery across the business.
A core focus of the role will be owning and improving integrations between key business platforms, including, Freshservice, Microsoft 365 and other enterprise systems. Using APIs, automation technologies and modern engineering practices, the successful candidate will ensure business processes remain connected, secure and reliable.
This position will also provide technical leadership across automation and AI initiatives, helping to establish engineering standards, mentor team members and drive the adoption of innovative technologies where they deliver genuine business value.
This role reports to the IT Automation and AI Manager.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
Here are a few examples of what you could be involved with:
Designing, developing and supporting automation solutions, integrations and AI-enabled workflows across the business. Owning and enhancing integrations between enterprise platforms including Freshservice, Dayforce, Microsoft 365 and other business-critical applications. Developing secure, maintainable and scalable solutions using technologies such as PowerShell, APIs, Python, Power Automate, Microsoft 365 and Copilot Studio. Leading technical projects from design through to implementation and support. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to Automation Engineers and Solutions Engineers. Establishing and maintaining development standards, testing approaches and release processes to ensure high-quality solution delivery. Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions and manage delivery expectations. Troubleshooting complex integrations, automation failures and system issues. Identifying opportunities to improve business processes through automation, AI and system integration. Keeping up to date with emerging technologies across automation, Microsoft Copilot, AI, APIs and the wider Microsoft ecosystem. Building and maintaining AI agents using Studios while supporting governance across the corporate environment.
What you’ll bring
You don’t need experience in everything listed—but we’re especially keen to hear from people with some of the following skills:
Proven experience in Automation Engineering, Integration Engineering, Platform Engineering or a similar technical role. Strong experience designing, building and supporting automations, workflows and integrations within enterprise environments. Hands-on experience with scripting and development technologies such as PowerShell, Python, REST APIs and Power Automate. Experience integrating business systems and SaaS platforms using APIs, web services and automation tools. Experience working with Microsoft 365 technologies, including Entra ID, Microsoft Graph and the Power Platform. Ability to troubleshoot, debug and optimise complex automation and integration solutions. Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers. Strong understanding of software development practices including version control, testing, code reviews and release management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical business outcomes. Understanding of security, governance, data protection and compliance considerations when developing automation and AI solutions. Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, AI agents, generative AI or related technologies would be beneficial but is not essential. Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies, automation, integration, AI or cloud platforms would be advantageous.
