The posting

GAMURS Group is seeking versatile and passionate writers who can produce timely, well-considered, and engaging articles for our brands. The successful candidates will become part of a small team focused on producing both news and guides, although there will be a heavy emphasis on guide work. Candidates will need to be culturally and socially engaged with their finger on the pulse of gaming.

Candidates will need a high standard of written English, but the position is fully remote, so is open to applicants from all regions.

We are very eager to hear from candidates who have specific areas of gaming that they are extremely passionate about. This could include gacha games, cozy games, animal-capture titles, Double A games, etc. We want to hear from people who feel like they could build out a strong niche and know what it takes to engage audiences in those areas.

Responsibilities

  • Write 4-5 articles per day with a heavy focus on guides and informational content that will assist gamers in their own gaming journeys.
  • Pitch articles that are based on both trending topics discovered using appropriate tools and topics discovered from time spent playing games.
  • The ability to cover a game from start to finish, finding relevant guide and wiki-style topics that will help players on their own gaming journeys.
  • Monitor news cycles and pitch either breaking news or appropriate short-form features that will provide a unique angle of coverage.
  • Write articles based on pitches from the editorial staff.
  • Put the factual accuracy of reporting front and center in your work.
  • Be passionate and communicative with other staff.

Requirements

  • The candidate should have proven experience covering news and guides in the gaming space, and should provide links to previous coverage.
  • The ability to produce clean copy to a high standard of English.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Trello, Slack, and other common systems and programs used in the industry.
  • An eye for an attention-grabbing featured image.
  • A genuine curiosity for how players are approaching games, and a drive to provide quality content that keeps them engaged with gaming as a hobby.
  • A desire to immerse themselves in the communities of the games they cover, and learn to predict their needs and wants when it comes to coverage and tools.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
