Master Supply Planner Status: Full-time Location: GLF Head Office, 10 Carlson Court (Hybrid) The pay range for the role is $62,600 to $104,300 plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities. Job Scope: Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, this position is responsible for short-, medium- and long-term production plans for the assigned categories to meet our customer’s demand. Candidates for this full-time position are required with the following qualifications and will perform the duties listed below. Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain master production plans aligned with sales forecasts. Prepare and lead the Capacity Planning Review (CPR) meetings with the plant team. As part of the Integrated Supply Chain team, work closely with purchasing, raw material planning, and production scheduling colleagues. Participate in the Demand and Supply Review process, working with Sales, Supply Planning, Operations, Finance, and Leadership Team. Monitor KPIs, escalate gaps, ensure weekly spoilage report and actions are updated and perform root-cause analysis. Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation. Meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Utilize production specifications and plant capacity data to plan require production volumes while maximizing efficiencies in the plants. Communicate with the demand forecaster, customer service, distribution, sales and marketing staff and some customers to best determine customer’s demand and schedule production to meet the demand. Managing end to end planning milk, components and finished goods. Utilize the Warehouse Management System to determine inventory levels, demand forecast, shelf life of product and shipping information to assist in the calculation of production volumes. Manage inventory volumes to provide the best possible shelf life to our customers. Perform capacity analysis, Long-term Demand, Inventory Risk and more pertaining to Long term supply strategies. Prepare purchase orders to obtain such products that are co-packaged by other manufactures for Gay Lea Foods as required. Support planning schedulers as backup for vacation coverage Be able to support as backup as Supply Review Lead for monthly IBP cycle meetings, when Supply Review lead is absent. Other ad-hoc projects as dictated by business needs Travel to other sites as needed.
Qualifications & Competencies:
5+ years’ experience in production control, planning, inventory control and/or materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Post-secondary education with a Supply Chain focus or equivalent experience. Proficient in Supply Chain concepts (safety stock planning, MRP calculations, scheduling constraints and bottlenecks, etc.). Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Power BI). Lean/Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or equivalent experience. Previous ERP experience is required; Microsoft Dynamics AX is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to challenge status quo, influence and drive change and results. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to multitask and work to deadlines. Highly developed analytical, quantitative and data analysis aptitude. Proactive individual with excellent time and project management skills. Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to other sites.
