Position Title:  Finished Products Operator   Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time Permanent   Pay Rate: $36.56 per hour plus shift premium of $5.03 paid on all base hours   Physical Location: Grande Prairie Pulp Mill 53024A Resources Road County of Grande Prairie No.1 Directions: Travel 12 kms south of Grande Prairie on Resources Road. To learn more about the Northwest Alberta region, please visit Work NW Alberta     The Job You Will Perform:   The Finished Products Operator is responsible for safely forming a pulp sheet, cutting, preparing, packaging and loading the product on either railcars or trucks to ship the product to our customers.  You will operate a high-speed cutter, bale line, presses, stacker, clamp trucks, a locomotive, run lab tests, perform basic equipment care and potentially run a pulp machine.   This is a team-based position that works in a structured learning environment to meet production goals. Team members must be improvement focused, willing to work toward unit goals and find achieving results rewarding. The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment and enjoy routine expectations.   The Grande Prairie mill is an 1100+ tonne per day Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill, employees approximately 400 mill employees in a 24-hour operation.   How we take care of our employees:

The shift schedule for this position is rotating 12-hour nights and days, with 14/28 days on shift. 7 days off straight each 28 days rotation. We are a short 10-minute drive outside of the city and you will be home each day. GCF provides employees with a healthy work/life balance.

Learn/ develop yourself and your team Improve the business by contributing to and accomplishing team objectives Operate forklift and a locomotive. Operate Cutter and Bale Line equipment Take process samples and accurately complete lab tests Perform switchman duties in a rail yard. Perform basic maintenance tasks Stay current on safety, process and business information Strong communication with your team and team leader

      Qualifications   Required qualifications include:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to perform duties with little supervision Proactive approach to troubleshooting/problem identification Able to perform physically demanding work Demonstrated safety awareness The ability to work closely with others in a team environment. Strong learning orientation and ability to adapt to change

    Preferred qualifications include:  

Firefighting certificate -1081

EMR Certificate Experience operating heavy equipment Strong communication skills
