How You’ll Make this Internship Opportunity Your Own

As a Financial Data Analyst Associate Intern you’ll gain hands-on experience working with data, analytics, automation, and emerging technologies while contributing to initiatives that have a measurable impact across the finance organization. You will interact with employees and leadership across all levels of the finance organization while building valuable business and technical skills. Working alongside a small, highly collaborative team, you’ll have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to initiatives that improve how finance professionals work, analyst information, and make decisions.

A Day in the Life

  • Support finance initiatives focused on analytics, automation, reporting, and process improvement.
  • Assist in building reports, dashboards, visualizations, and other tools that support business decision making.
  • Explore new technologies that can enhance finance processes and improve user experiences.
  • Partner with finance stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate needs into practical solutions.
  • Document processes and assist with testing, deployment, and user adoption of new tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects that help transform and modernize the finance organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Must-Haves

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program in, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field from a United States-based college or university.
  • Interest in the intersection of finance, data, analytics, automation, and technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred

What You’ll Need to Deliver Your Best Every Day

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new tools, applications, and technologies.
  • Stakeholder-focused mindset with a focus on understanding user needs and delivering effective solutions.
  • Exposure to or proficiency in coding and scripting languages (such as Python, SQL, VBA, or similar).
  • Exposure to Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, or similar analytics and automation tools.

What you Offer as a Stand-Out Candidate

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, interpreting financial statements, and exposure to quantitative financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with fundamental data structures, data relationships, and data quality concepts is a plus, but not required

GDIT interns are paid and full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks. Applicants should have a minimum of one semester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. Take the first step and apply today!

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $27.43 - $37.11. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
