Job Description Summary

The BIM Manager – BWRX-300 Nuclear Reactor Building is responsible for establishing and governing the Building Information Modeling (BIM) execution strategy for the DNNP-1 Reactor Building and associated BWRX-300 standard plant design. This role serves as the DNNP-1 Reactor Building Model Coordinator and is accountable for all BIM coordination, model integration, clash detection, and data management activities across multiple engineering disciplines and organizations. In the current BWRX-300 new-build phase, this role is heavily focused on the front-end definition and maintenance of the BIM Execution Plan, management of the federated digital model environment within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and ensuring seamless integration of discipline-specific models from GVH, Sargent & Lundy, subcontractors, and project partners. The BIM Manager ensures that all 3D models, metadata, and design deliverables comply with GVH information governance policies, data standards, and configuration control requirements. This role is a key interface with internal design teams, external engineering partners, subcontractors, project partners with shared physical layout ownership, and GVH Design Authority. The BIM Manager plays a critical role in enabling design accuracy, constructability, and lifecycle data continuity across engineering, construction, and eventual operational use of the BWRX-300 plant.

Job Description

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • BIM Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Develop and maintain the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) as a living document. You will define the lifecycle metadata requirements, ensuring models are structured for downstream asset management and operational use.
  • Federated Model Environment: Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) in the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). You are responsible for the "Master Model" architecture, defining geo-reference points, managing status code progression, and ensuring seamless integration with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Vault systems.
  • Advanced Clash Detection & Coordination: Orchestrate cross-disciplinary coordination (HVAC, Structural, Piping, Electrical, Fire Protection) across 8 reactor building zones. You will lead the technical resolution of design clashes, mediating between GVH and Sargent & Lundy design teams to ensure constructability.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all model outputs comply with rigorous regulatory frameworks (ISO 19650, ASME NQA-1). You will lead the "Design Lock" process and audit model metadata to ensure independent verification and documentation are maintained per engineering procedures (e.g., CP-03-100 series).
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead the Area Model Coordinator (AMC) team. You will be responsible for standardizing BIM workflows across internal and external partners, conducting "Pre-Job Briefs" to align teams on design goals, and capturing "lessons learned" to optimize future project templates.
  • Stakeholder & Interface Management: Define and enforce electronic communication protocols for external subcontractors. You will support procurement by embedding BIM requirements into RFQs and contracts, and drive the adoption of 4D BIM to improve construction sequencing and site risk management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering/construction management within complex, highly regulated infrastructure environments (e.g., nuclear, oil and gas, or large-scale power).

Eligibility requirement:

  • Travel: Ability to travel 25–40% to collaborate with design and construction partners.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Advanced degree in engineering, construction management, or BIM/digital design specialization is an asset.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit, Navisworks, or ACC)
  • BIM Management certification (building SMART, NBIMS, or equivalent)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
  • Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of ISO 19650 information governance and nuclear QA programs.
  • Technical Stack: Expert-level mastery of Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Navisworks Manage, and Plant 3D. Experience with Civil 3D or Autodesk Forma is highly desirable.
  • Communication: Proven ability to resolve inter-disciplinary technical disputes and communicate complex BIM strategies to non-technical project stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
