Job Description Summary

As a key member of the Stability Analysis Team, you will perform safety analyses focused on plant thermal-hydraulic stability, plant noise, Power Range Neutron Monitor (PRNM) stability interfaces, and related reactor safety evaluations. These analyses support reload applications and operational needs for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) fleets, including currently operating plants and advanced reactor designs such as the BWRX-300 deployed or planned worldwide.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct plant thermal-hydraulic stability assessments, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface evaluations, and other safety analyses, applying advanced expertise in two-phase thermal-hydraulic analysis methods.
  • Perform fuel-related project activities, including reload analyses, stability methodology implementation, new fuel design and deployment, and safety analysis support for emerging fuel-related issues.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional environments with teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, and other affiliated organizations to develop optimal customer-focused solutions.
  • Prepare, document, and present technical analyses, recommendations, and results to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to support team development, knowledge management, procedure development, and process compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for both external customers and internal audiences to support knowledge transfer, retention, and organizational capability growth.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, simplifying processes, and enhancing team performance.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company quality assurance processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of experience in plant T-H Stability Safety Analysis.

Desired Characteristics

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering with a focus on reactor system thermal-hydraulic modeling.
  • Proven experience in BWR/ABWR/ESBWR stability analysis, including plant noise, PRNM interfaces, setpoint methodologies, and frequency/time-domain analysis.
  • Skilled in 3-D neutron kinetics (e.g., PANAC), system codes (TRACG, TRACE, RELAP), and the application of Best Estimate and CSAU methodologies for safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in reactor licensing requirements and plant-level operational support.
  • Competent in technical languages such as C#, Python, or FORTRAN.
  • High-energy team player with a track record of driving technical ownership, simplifying complex challenges, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written skills with a commitment to quality, integrity, and meeting project objectives.
  • Solid understanding of energy industry standards and customer-centric requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
