Job Description Summary

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will bridge the gap between process development and daily production operations. You will be responsible for the industrialization of new products and the continuous improvement of Sinker EDM, Fast Hole Drill (FHD) EDM, and milling processes. This role involves active process development, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration within a matrixed organization to ensure manufacturing consistency, quality, and operational excellence.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • New Product Industrialization (NPI): Lead the transition of new components from prototype to production. Develop and validate robust process parameters, including electrode design and fixture development.
  • Engineering Documentation: Draft, review, and release technical documentation including Standard Work Instructions (SWI), process sheets, and setup checklists to ensure production consistency and compliance.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Actively lead and participate in Kaizen events. Apply Lean principles (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED) to eliminate waste, improve process flow, and increase throughput in EDM and Milling cells.
  • Matrix Collaboration: Effectively navigate and communicate within a matrixed organization, coordinating with design engineering, quality, production planning, and supply chain teams to meet project deliverables.
  • Technical Support: Provide high-level technical support for production lines, addressing complex equipment issues, performing root-cause analysis, and providing technical guidance to operators.
  • Performance Metrics: Drive key performance metrics related to Safety, Quality, and Delivery (SQD). Monitor defect trends within the Built In Quality (BIQ) framework to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Bottleneck Resolution: Proactively monitor production output, identify constraints in EDM/Milling cells, and implement solutions to increase process reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and 2+ years of manufacturing experience, OR High School diploma/GED with 5 years of sinker EDM/FHD EDM/CNC milling manufacturing processes.
  • Technical Writing: Proven ability to create clear, accurate technical documentation and process instructions for a manufacturing environment.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across various functional departments in a matrixed organization.
  • Proficiency: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired Characteristics

  • Technical Software: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
  • Technical Standards: Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a focus on statistical process control (Cpk/Ppk) and 8D/DMAIC problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proactivity: A proactive approach to process ownership and a deep desire to advance manufacturing technology.
  • Lean Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience participating in continuous improvement/Kaizen events.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience with industrial manufacturing processes or industrial chemical manufacturing.

Eligibility Requirements

  • This facility operates 24 hours per day. Must be able to occasionally provide assistance to shifts outside regular working hours to support NPI launches or critical troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to work 100% on-site.
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and protected individuals).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
