Job Description

Role summary

The Senior Global Product Manager is responsible for the global strategy, product roadmap, lifecycle management, commercialization and business performance of the GridBeats™ Advanced Automation Applications (AAA) portfolio within GE Vernova’s Grid Automation & Software (GA&S) business. These applications monitor, protect and control power systems in real time, from industrial plants, data centers and microgrids to renewable power plants and utility grids. The role supports electric utilities, renewable energy developers, data center operators and energy-intensive industries such as oil and gas. It combines technical product leadership with market analysis, customer engagement, commercial strategy and cross-functional execution.

Key responsibilities

  • Define the global product vision, strategy, positioning and multi-year roadmap for the AAA portfolio.
  • Manage the lifecycle of all portfolio applications: zonal autonomous control (ZAC); microgrid control and energy management systems (EMS); power management systems (PMS) and electrical control systems; power plant control (PPC) for solar, wind, battery storage and hybrid plants; wide-area monitoring, protection and control (WAMPAC); flexible connections (active network management); wildfire mitigation; and other grid resilience applications.
  • Gather voice of the customer (VoC) input from utilities, industrial customers, data center operators, renewable developers, system integrators and regional commercial teams.
  • Translate customer and market needs into product requirements, use cases, acceptance criteria and development priorities.
  • Prioritize product investments and release content based on customer value, market opportunity, technical feasibility, strategic alignment, implementation risk and expected financial return.
  • Coordinate new product introduction (NPI) activities, including product definition, development gates, validation, launch readiness, documentation, training and post-launch improvements.
  • Work with engineering, software development, systems architecture, cybersecurity, quality, project delivery and service teams to deliver scalable hardware and software solutions.
  • Develop value propositions, pricing and licensing recommendations, business cases, revenue forecasts and go-to-market plans.
  • Support strategic customer proposals, demonstrations, discovery workshops and executive-level customer engagements.
  • Monitor orders, revenue, recurring revenue, margin, pipeline, market adoption, customer outcomes and overall portfolio performance.
  • Coordinate product activities with all regions, including regional requirements, localization, commercial enablement and deployment readiness.
  • Ensure the portfolio meets applicable grid code, interconnection, interoperability, cybersecurity and performance requirements.
  • Drive integration with GE Vernova GridOS® applications (such as ADMS, DERMS and WAMS) to deliver solutions from the control room to the grid edge.
  • Evaluate partnership and integration opportunities involving grid software, distribution utility solutions, distributed energy resources (DER), industrial automation, energy management and AI-enabled decision support.
  • Represent the product portfolio at customer meetings, industry events, partner discussions and internal business reviews.
  • Lead global cross-functional teams through influence, providing clear product direction, priorities and decisions.

The position operates within a global matrix organization and collaborates with engineering, research and development, architecture, cybersecurity, quality, finance, legal, sales, marketing, regional product teams, services, project delivery, customers and external partners.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, systems engineering, application engineering or a related role within power systems, energy management, protection and control, substation automation or industrial automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 50% of the time to support customers, partners and regional teams.

Preferred industry knowledge and experience

  • Experience with power system control applications such as EMS, microgrid control, power management and load shedding, power plant control, remedial action schemes, WAMS/WAMPAC or active network management.
  • Deep knowledge of GE Vernova Grid Automation & Software products (such as GridBeats™ and GridOS®) or equivalent competitor products.
  • Experience managing software products, including release planning, agile development and licensing or subscription models.
  • Knowledge of grid interconnection requirements for inverter-based resources (IBR), battery storage and large loads such as data centers (for example IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800, NERC reliability standards and regional grid codes).
  • Experience with protection and control, substation automation and digital substation applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to define or develop applications for power and industrial automation markets.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and documentation practices used by electric utilities and industrial customers.
  • Proven track record of authoring and presenting technical papers at industry conferences (such as CIGRE or IEEE PES) or in technical journals.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
