About the Company

Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in 2014, offering a wide range of simple, reliable, and secure crypto products and services to individuals and institutions in over 70 countries. Our mission is to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom by providing trusted access to the decentralized future. We envision a world where crypto reshapes the global financial system, internet, and money to create greater choice, independence, and opportunity for all — bridging traditional finance with the emerging cryptoeconomy in a way that is more open, fair, and secure. As a publicly traded company, Gemini is poised to accelerate this vision with greater scale, reach, and impact.

The Department: Compliance

Compliance at Gemini is a team dedicated to managing the next generation of financial crime prevention in a complex and evolving regulatory environment. We are a diverse group of technology, legal, and operational professionals who develop new approaches to solving classic problems using cutting edge tools and processes.

The Role: Head of Consumer and Lending Compliance

In this role, you will lead the compliance program for Gemini’s deposit and lending products, including the first-in-class crypto rewards credit card and business credit card. You will be responsible for creating a comprehensive strategy to scale the program and support the business in delivering product features in a compliant and consumer-friendly way. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of consumer finance regulations, be solutions-oriented, and have experience operating in a fast-moving environment. Superior communication skills are essential, as this individual will be required to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including product, technology, legal, risk, as well as banking partners and regulators. This role reports directly to Gemini’s Global Chief Compliance Officer and has a direct line of communication to the Board.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the consumer compliance program in accordance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., UDAAP, ECOA, FCRA, TILA, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary advisor to the credit card business and other horizon banking and lending products, providing guidance on new product development, product changes, and marketing initiatives
  • Manage a team of compliance professionals responsible for monitoring and testing, complaint management, third party oversight, issue management, compliance reporting, and customer-facing communications, among other areas
  • Provide regular reporting to the Board of Managers and other governance committees
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Gemini and its sponsor bank partner
  • Respond to internal and external audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries related to credit card card operations
  • Oversee risk assessments for consumer banking products, identifying potential areas of risk and working cross-functionally to manage such risks
  • Serve as the Fair Lending Officer overseeing the company’s fair lending program
  • Ensure proper oversight of vendors and other third parties that present potential compliance or regulatory risk
  • Oversee remediation plans for high priority issues to ensure timely remediation and remedy of any compliance-related issues
  • Remain up-to-date on regulatory changes and landscapes, best practices and developments in the industry and ensure our implementation is both compliant and forward thinking
  • Provide timely and accurate advice and guidance to the Gemini’s staff on issues arising from compliance policy areas and subject matter within the responsibility of the Compliance Department

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree. CRCM or Juris Doctor preferred
  • 10+ years of compliance experience in credit, banking, fintech, or other financial regulatory compliance industry and at least 4+ years of experience overseeing a consumer compliance program is a must
  • Experience supporting a fast-scaling business
  • Possess deep knowledge and real world application of all lending and banking laws and regulations including UDAAP, TILA, TISA, ECOA, FCRA, EFTA, MLA, SCRA, GLBA, and CAN-SPAM
  • Proven track record of providing oversight and strategic vision for the entirety of a Compliance Management System (CMS)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
