Summary

GeneDx is seeking a Director of Business Development, Biopharma Partnerships to serve as a senior commercial leader driving the growth of our real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) partnerships with global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, digital health, and medtech organizations. This individual will own the full enterprise sales cycle — from pipeline generation through close — securing multi-million-dollar Master Service Agreements (MSAs) with top-tier pharma partners. The ideal candidate brings deep commercial and strategic expertise across digital health, RWE, pharma, and medtech, with a proven track record of closing $2M–$10M+ enterprise deals and aggressively building qualified pipeline.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the enterprise sales pipeline end-to-end, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and close, with a focus on $2M–$10M+ MSAs with pharma leaders (e.g., BMS, Takeda, GSK, Boehringer Ingelheim, and similar)
  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to achieve aggressive revenue targets, driving measurable increases in qualified pipeline and win rates
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to C-suite and VP-level stakeholders at partner organizations, articulating the value of GeneDx's real-world data and genomic assets in drug development, clinical trial optimization, and disease understanding
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder deal structuring and negotiations, including creative and novel partnership models tailored to enterprise pharma needs
  • Provide strategic input to the commercial partnerships roadmap, influencing go-to-market strategy, pricing, and product positioning based on deep market intelligence across digital health, RWE, pharma, and medtech
  • Translate observed client needs and market trends into product development priorities, collaborating cross-functionally with Data Science, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Product teams
  • Build and maintain a robust network of senior decision-makers across the biopharma, biotech, digital health, and medtech ecosystem
  • Represent GeneDx at major industry conferences, thought leadership events, and partner forums to elevate brand visibility and generate inbound opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and leverage market intelligence, ensuring commercial outcomes are optimized through data-driven targeting
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources (implementation, data science, medical affairs) to support partnership discussions and ensure seamless project execution
  • Occasional travel to meet with clients and attend conferences will also be expected

  • Deep commercial and strategic expertise spanning digital health, real-world evidence (RWE), pharma, and medtech — with demonstrated ability to navigate complex enterprise sales cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to aggressively build and manage qualified pipeline, with measurable results (e.g., X% increase in qualified pipeline, X%+ improvement in win rates)
  • Established network of senior contacts at pharma/biotech companies including organizations like BMS, Takeda, GSK, Boehringer Ingelheim, and similar
  • Expertise selling real-world data or real-world evidence solutions, with strong understanding of how RWD/RWE is utilized in drug development, regulatory submissions, and commercial strategy
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to engage, influence, and close at the C-suite and VP level

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
