Job Description

The Role

General Motors Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA) is seeking an experienced and analytical Demand Forecasting Analyst to support its Control Tower operation, providing centralized monitoring, rapid assessment, and forecast decision-making for critical, high-visibility service parts. This role will identify emerging demand, supply, inventory, quality, and operational risks; prioritize issues based on business and customer impact; and coordinate timely cross-functional actions through resolution.

This role serves as a key link between forecasting, inventory planning, supplier management, logistics, and operations. The successful candidate will translate customer demand signals, supply chain challenges, and business risks into actionable forecast decisions that support customer service, inventory health, and supply continuity.

Success in this role requires strong business judgment, the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations, and a sense of urgency when managing issues that require immediate action. The individual will serve as a forecasting advocate across the organization, communicating impacts, recommendations, and required actions while building alignment among cross-functional stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Own forecasting decisions for critical service parts and emerging issues impacted by supply chain risks, changing demand patterns, and operational challenges.
  • Translate customer demand signals, inventory conditions, supplier constraints, and business risks into actionable forecast strategies.
  • Monitor critical service parts and emerging exceptions, assess potential business and customer impact, and prioritize issues requiring immediate action.
  • Coordinate immediate cross-functional recovery actions, partnering with inventory planning, supplier management, logistics, purchasing, operations, engineering, and other business teams to develop effective solutions.
  • Communicate findings, business impacts, recommendations, and next steps to stakeholders and leadership; escalate unresolved risks; and follow up on issues through resolution.
  • Act as the central forecasting point of contact for critical part disruptions, maintaining visibility of forecast decisions, business impacts, required actions, accountable owners, and issue status through resolution.
  • Serve as the forecasting advocate in cross-functional meetings and business reviews.
  • Investigate forecast variances, demand shifts, and emerging trends to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovative thinking, challenging existing processes, and developing tailored solutions for complex business problems.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in demand forecasting, demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, inventory management, materials management, production planning, operations planning, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), purchasing, procurement, logistics, supplier management, supply chain analytics, business analytics, customer fulfillment, or similar analytical supply chain roles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex business issues.
  • Experience leading and influencing teams while collaborating across multiple functions.

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience working with large datasets and analytical tools (Python, SQL, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Service-parts, aftermarket, inventory-risk, backorder, or supply-constraint experience.
  • Maestro, Kinaxis, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, or similar forecasting/planning platforms
  • Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire business visualization tools creation / management
  • Tidal, KNIME, or equivalent Extract Transform Load (ETL) workflow automation tool.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
