The Role General Motors is seeking an IT System Analyst to support the Corporate Development, Joint Ventures, and Alliances organizations. In this role, you will help ensure that business-critical applications, technical environments, and data integrations support effective collaboration between GM and external entities.

You will partner with Corporate Development stakeholders, IT teams, joint venture and alliance participants, and technology providers to understand business needs, support applications, document technical infrastructure, and enable reliable data exchange. The successful candidate is an analytical, independent problem solver who can translate business requirements into practical technology solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the day-to-day operation, enhancement, and continuous improvement of applications used by the Corporate Development team.
  • Serve as a trusted technology partner to stakeholders across Corporate Development, Joint Ventures, and Alliances.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements; identify impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigate incidents, troubleshoot application and integration issues, and coordinate resolution with internal IT teams, vendors, and partner organizations.
  • Document application landscapes, technical infrastructure, interfaces, data flows, dependencies, support processes, and operational procedures.
  • Define and maintain integration requirements that enable secure and reliable data exchange between GM and joint venture or alliance entities.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, infrastructure, data, identity, and enterprise application teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Participate in solution design, interface definition, test planning, system testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Monitor data quality, integration performance, and operational health; help identify and remediate recurring issues.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear recommendations, presentations, status updates, and documentation for business and IT leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records of application ownership, configurations, support contacts, technical decisions, and lifecycle information.
  • Contribute to standards, operating procedures, controls, and governance practices that improve the reliability and supportability of the Corporate Development IT environment.
  • Manage multiple priorities independently while keeping stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and decisions.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications, business systems, technology projects, or IT operations.
  • Experience performing systems analysis, requirements gathering, process analysis, or solution definition.
  • Experience documenting technical infrastructure, application dependencies, interfaces, data flows, or operational procedures.
  • Experience supporting data integrations or system interfaces across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing assignments, and drive work to completion with limited direction.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to nontechnical audiences.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, documentation quality, security, and operational excellence.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience supporting corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, finance, legal, procurement, or other complex enterprise functions.
  • Experience working with APIs, file-based integrations, ETL/data pipelines, messaging, identity/access integrations, or other enterprise integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, data mapping, data validation, and integration monitoring concepts.
  • Experience with cloud-based enterprise applications and services.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management, service management, change management, incident/problem management, or vendor management.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed, or multi-entity environment.
  • Relevant professional certifications in systems analysis, project management, service management, architecture, cloud, data, or security.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
