The Role

As a Publisher Ad Media Operations Specialist you are responsible for the end-to-end execution, delivery, reporting, and optimization of advertising campaigns within Google Ad Manager, while supporting the reliability and commercial performance of the organization's owned websites, applications, advertising inventory, and proprietary first-party data operations.

This is a senior individual-contributor role that combines hands-on platform expertise, analytical judgment, cross-functional coordination, and operational ownership. The role works closely with Customer Success, Media Buying, Business Intelligence, Product, Advertising Operations and Technical teams across multiple regions to translate campaign objectives into accurate setups, proactive optimizations, actionable reporting, and dependable operational outcomes.

Main responsibilities

  • Campaign Activation and Trafficking: Configure, traffic, quality-assure, launch, and maintain direct-sold, programmatic, sponsorship, and other supported campaigns in Google Ad Manager, ensuring alignment with commercial commitments and approved campaign requirements.
  • Google Ad Manager Configuration: Implement and validate orders, line items, creatives, targeting, custom key-values, frequency caps, tracking pixels, priorities, inventory assignments, and related delivery controls.
  • Quality Assurance and Launch Readiness: Perform detailed pre-launch and post-launch QA covering creative rendering, click behavior, tags, tracking, targeting, inventory mapping, platform permissions, naming, and reporting readiness.
  • Delivery Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor pacing, delivery, impressions, viewability, click-through rate, revenue, utilization, and other relevant indicators; make practical adjustments to line-item settings, priorities, allocations, targeting, frequency, and inventory to meet campaign and business goals.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve campaign discrepancies, ad-serving failures, creative issues, targeting conflicts, tracking gaps, delivery limitations, and data inconsistencies across Google Ad Manager, SSPs, ad servers, websites, applications, and third-party technologies.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Build, maintain, automate, and quality-assure dashboards and recurring reports in Sigma or similar BI platforms, supplementing them with Google Ad Manager exports where required.
  • Performance Insights: Analyze delivery, pacing, viewability, CTR, revenue, fill rate, eCPM, inventory utilization, and historical trends; translate findings into clear recommendations for Account Management, Sales, Media Buying, and operational stakeholders.
  • Reporting Data Integrity: Maintain consistent campaign naming, key-value taxonomies, tagging standards, inventory structures, and metadata so that downstream reporting remains accurate, scalable, and filterable.
  • Yield and Inventory Optimization: Evaluate inventory and revenue performance across direct and programmatic demand, support forecasting and availability assessments, and identify opportunities to improve fill rate, pricing, CPMs, allocation, and overall yield in collaboration with relevant commercial and yield stakeholders.
  • First-Party Data Operations: Support first-party data operations, including audience intake, naming, validation, synchronization, refresh scheduling, platform distribution, access controls, and delivery confirmation, while maintaining appropriate data quality and governance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Customer Success, Media Buying, Business Intelligence, Product, Advertising Operations and Technical teams, and external technology providers to clarify requirements, communicate risks, resolve escalations, and support successful campaign delivery.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as a primary operational contact for the owners and representatives of websites and applications managed by the team; build trusted working relationships, clarify requirements, communicate campaign and inventory performance, manage expectations, coordinate issue resolution, and provide proactive recommendations that support successful long-term partnerships.
  • Operational Expertise and Enablement: Act as a subject-matter resource for complex Google Ad Manager, inventory, delivery, reporting, and first-party data matters; support standards, documentation, training, and operational improvements across the team without assuming formal people-management responsibilities.

Required Skills & Competencies :

  • Fluent English communication
  • Advanced expertise in Google Ad Manager (inventory, targeting, forecasting, reporting, troubleshooting)
  • Solid grounding in digital advertising/programmatic ecosystem (SSPs, DSPs, auctions, tracking, optimization)
  • Analytical and commercial judgment to interpret data and drive decisions
  • Proficiency in BI tools (Sigma, Looker, Power BI, Tableau) and strong Excel skills
  • Technical literacy: websites/apps, ad tags, HTML/JavaScript, SDKs, APIs, cookies, consent
  • Understanding of first-party data, audience segmentation, and data activation
  • Strong soft skills: attention to detail, problem-solving, stakeholder/client management, mentoring, and independent ownership
  • Responsible, validated use of AI tools

Experience Requirements:

  • 4+ years in ad ops, publisher ops, campaign/programmatic/yield management
  • Required hands-on advanced experience with Google Ad Manager (trafficking, inventory, delivery, forecasting, troubleshooting)
  • Proven track record managing complex direct-sold, programmatic, or sponsorship campaigns end-to-end
  • Experience building reporting/dashboards in BI tools, ideally with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Skilled in analyzing performance metrics (delivery, viewability, CTR, CPM, fill rate, pacing, discrepancies)
  • Preferred: SSP/DSP and yield management experience; ad tag/tracking/creative troubleshooting; first-party data/CDP/clean-room work
  • Preferred background: publisher, media/sports/entertainment, ad tech, agency, or digital marketplace
  • Valuable: advanced GAM features (Ad Rules, Dynamic Allocation, Programmatic Guaranteed)
  • Desirable: knowledge of privacy, identity, measurement, and brand safety trend

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
