  • Read and follow project plans related to your specialty.
  • Perform drilling, shotcrete, or grouting work based on your experience and assignment.
  • Operate equipment safely and complete daily inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Identify job-site hazards and communicate equipment, material, or installation concerns.
  • Maintain accurate production records and equipment checklists.
  • Support other crew activities and help train less-experienced technicians.

Technical Experience

Candidates should bring demonstrated proficiency in one of the following specialties:

  • Mix grout to project specifications and troubleshoot basic grout pump issues.

Shotcrete and Grouting

  • Prepare reinforcement, drainage, and surfaces according to project details.
  • Apply shotcrete according to project plans and ACI standards.
  • Maintain shotcrete mix quality and properly maintain the nozzle.
  • Operate and maintain shotcrete or grout pumps and troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Read and follow shotcrete-related plans.
  • Operate supporting equipment such as skid steers, manlifts, forklifts, and compactors.

Experience in both specialties is welcome but is not required for this level.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience performing the drilling or shotcrete/grouting tasks listed above.
  • Experience working outdoors in physically demanding construction environments.
  • Ability to read relevant plans, follow instructions, and meet daily production targets.
  • Ability to complete routine technical tasks with limited direction.
  • Experience inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication with crew members.
  • Reliable attendance and a commitment to safe work.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Residence within GSI’s Central, West, or Pacific regions.
  • Willingness and availability to travel up to 100%.

Relevant equipment certifications, a CDL, and documented shotcrete nozzle experience are valuable. Please include any certifications with your application.

Travel and Schedule

  • Travel up to 100% to projects across Central and West regions of the United States
  • Crews may work three weeks on/one week off or five days on/two days off, depending on home location and project needs.
  • Your expected rotation will be discussed during the interview process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
