Head of Sales – North America

Industrial Materials | Advanced Composites | Business Development & Sales Leadership

Location: Remote, United States Territory: United States, Canada & Mexico

About the Role

Lead an established business. Build the next growth engine.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on Head of Sales – North America to lead the existing regional sales organization while driving expansion into new markets for prepregs, advanced composites, and engineered materials.

You will inherit an established electrical insulation business supported by experienced inside and outside sales professionals. This provides a solid foundation, allowing you to focus significant attention on developing new customer relationships, identifying applications, and creating commercial opportunities in Industrial and Mobility markets.

This is not a role focused solely on managing an existing sales team or maintaining established accounts.

We are looking for someone who enjoys opening doors, building business from the ground up, and shaping the commercial organization needed to support future growth.

You will combine strategic responsibility for North America with direct involvement in business development, customer engagement, and market expansion.

About the Company

Our client is an established international manufacturer of high-performance engineered materials, with a strong presence in electrical insulation and a growing portfolio of prepregs, reinforced plastics, and advanced composite materials (GFRP/CFRP).

Its products serve demanding applications in power generation, power and distribution transformers, large electric drives, and industrial OEM markets.

The company has an established North American customer base, an existing sales organization, and manufacturing operations in Mexico.

The next chapter is about growth: expanding beyond established electrical insulation markets and building a stronger commercial presence in Industrial and Mobility applications.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, support, and further develop the existing North American sales organization and established electrical insulation business.
  • Drive market expansion for prepregs, advanced composites, and engineered materials across Industrial and Mobility applications.
  • Personally identify, pursue, and develop new OEM relationships, strategic accounts, and application opportunities.
  • Build a sustainable pipeline and translate new market opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships.
  • Develop and execute regional sales and market-development strategies in close collaboration with global leadership.
  • Work with technical, product, and manufacturing teams to support customer qualification and specification-driven sales processes.
  • Identify future organizational needs and recruit, develop, and expand the regional sales team as the business grows.
  • Take ownership of commercial performance while operating effectively within a lean, international organization.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12–24 months, you will have:

  • Maintained and strengthened the established electrical insulation business and existing customer relationships.
  • Developed a qualified pipeline of new opportunities for prepregs and advanced composites in Industrial and Mobility markets.
  • Converted initial market-development opportunities into meaningful customer projects and commercial growth.
  • Established relationships with new OEMs, manufacturers, and strategic industry partners.
  • Defined and begun building the commercial team and capabilities required to scale the new business.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a commercially driven sales leader who combines industrial B2B sales leadership with a proven ability to develop new markets and customers.

You understand how technical products are sold into industrial OEM environments, but you do not need to be a composites engineer.

Relevant experience may include:

  • Advanced composites, prepregs, and engineered materials
  • Electrical insulation systems and industrial laminates
  • Industrial components and specialty materials
  • Power equipment and electrical OEM supply chains
  • Technical products sold through specification-driven industrial sales processes

Successful candidates bring:

  • A demonstrated track record of new business development, market expansion, and customer acquisition in technical B2B markets.
  • Experience leading and developing sales professionals, ideally in a lean or growing organization.
  • The ability to balance strategic commercial leadership with hands-on customer development.
  • Experience navigating complex OEM sales cycles, technical qualifications, and long-term customer relationships.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, commercial ownership, and the ability to operate with autonomy.
  • Comfort working across cultures and collaborating with international manufacturing and leadership teams.

This opportunity is particularly well suited for a sales leader who wants to build something, not simply manage what is already in place.

What The Company Offers

  • Base salary starting at $130k plus an attractive performance-based variable compensation
  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage
  • Company-supported dental and vision coverage
  • Employer-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance
  • Retirement savings participation with company match
  • 12–14 company-observed holidays annually
  • A progressive paid time-off structure that increases with tenure
  • Structured international onboarding across global production sites

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
