Job Description:

This job is responsible for the day-to-day resolution of complex problems and the research and execution of complex transactions for a single site/business unit or smaller business unit(s). Key responsibilities include strategically advising upon the design, development, and implementation of products, systems, and services using discretion within the project management methodologies.

This position is essential to sustain operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and service delivery across the CAP EMEA Accounts Payable function. With existing resources increasingly focused on enterprise transformation and AI efforts, the loss of this role would materially increase operational risk, threaten SLA performance, impact vendor and employee experience, and reduce the team's ability to meet critical tax, regulatory, and reporting obligations. Combined with the contractor roll-off, the team would effectively lose two resources within a lean operating model, creating an unsustainable capacity gap at a time of heightened business and transformation demand. The leanness of the team alongside the requirement for segregation of duties means not replacing would put additional strain across the function due to toxic access requirements This is also occurring whilst we have an increase in work efforts both BAU and Digital Tax Projects across the EMEA and OUS regions; we are also preparing for new additions to requirements and onboarding new countries . This replacement also presents a strategic opportunity to strengthen the team's capabilities by hiring at a higher band level, allowing us to strengthen leadership capacity, accelerate AI and transformation initiatives, enhance risk and compliance oversight, and position the team to support future growth and increasing business complexity. This approach not only addresses an immediate operational requirement but also ensures the team has the expertise and scalability needed to meet increasing business demands and deliver long-term value.

Responsibilities:

  • Advises on the design, development, and implementation of complex products, systems, and services in an operations environment using discretionary judgment
  • Advises on projects and directs activities of a team related to special initiatives
  • Advises as a technical expert in assigned area, providing an understanding of the business unit's operations processes and implications on other groups within the operations function
  • Consults on present-state, develops alternative future-state approaches, and facilitates implementations by creating a clear and coherent approach to guide effective program/initiative setup, execution, and control
  • Identifies and recommends responsibilities and accountabilities for key programs/projects
  • Manage end-to-end invoice processing and controls across Appian Invoicing and Oracle AP, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Monitor, interpret, and operationalize emerging Laws, Rules, and Regulations (LRRs) across international markets.
  • Apply and oversee EMEA tax and reporting requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate financial processing.
  • Analyze inquiry trends to identify root causes, training opportunities, and process improvement actions.
  • Drive AI and automation initiatives from ideation through implementation to improve efficiency and service delivery.

  • Partner with Business Units, Operations, and Finance teams across multiple countries to meet SLAs and regulatory requirements.
  • Support system enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT), and process development initiatives.

  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical & Research Skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Time management abilities
  • Must be able to multitask and work well within a team setting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate large datasets and translate findings into actionable business improvements.
  • Experience developing KPIs, performance metrics, operational dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on invoice, payment, supplier, and process-related issues.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
