Washington Sailing Marina, managed by Guest Services, Inc., is now hiring Part-time marina supervisors. The Supervisor position can be either full-time (30+ hours) or part-time (1-29 hours). All staff are required to work at least one day a weekend. The marina is staffed 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm. This position also provides the possibility for growth within the marina leadership. Starting pay for this position is $19.00 per hour and can be increased commensurate with the skills and experience of a candidate. Job Description:
Essential Functions for a Part-Time Marina Supervisor
Operations and Administration
- Direct day-to-day operations of the site including open and/or closing responsibilities.
- Administer front desk operations to maximize service-oriented staff performance.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers by responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, and collaborating with the WSM management team.
- Oversee ordering, inventory control and stocking of merchandise across retail food and beverage and marina maintenance repair operations to ensure accuracy, drive strategic sales and optimize product placement to deliver a compelling guest experience and meet GSI standards.
- Creates and implements preventive maintenance programs for infrastructure/equipment and enforces a comprehensive risk management program for managing boat/vessel scheduling, slip leasing and collection of payments.
- Verifies payments of invoices to ensure accurate billing and resolves discrepancies when appropriate. Reviews and prepares daily sales and cash reports, end-of-the month sales reports, in addition to the preparation of budgets and financial statements.
Maintenance, Sanitation, and Safety
- Inspect the facility daily and weekly to maintain safe operation of facilities, equipment, docks and grounds.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of all building facilities including bathrooms, shower rooms, storage areas, and the store.
- Ensure comprehensive completion of incident reports. Notify the General Manager and District Leadership of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues in a timely manner.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise on-duty staff members and cultivate a culture of respect and accountability.
- Monitor daily staff performance, provide feedback, and facilitate a culture of accountability.
Program Development and Marketing
- Assist in the management of Rental Programs and Sailing Programs. Support district operations, programs, and special events.
- Always represent the company professionally. Maintain and enhance the company’s image
when interacting with clients, guests, associates, and vendors.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Sailing, Powerboating, rowing and/or paddling knowledge and experience preferred.
- Ability to swim and comfort around the water.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- 5+ years of boating and/or marine related experience.
- Currently possess or ability to obtain a Boater Safety Course Certificate or Boating License.
- Computer proficiency with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible availability for frequent early morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand for the entire workday and to climb steps regularly.
- Withstanding temperature extremes and inclement outdoor weather.
- Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
- Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
- Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
Equipment Used
- Typical office equipment (computers, phone system, fax, copiers, scanners, among others).
